I'm deciding on a high/low shelving EQ for both individual tracks as also something that could be used on the mix buss.
A main requirement is smoothness.
Obviously Kush's Audio's Clariphonic and Dangerous Audio's BAX both possibilities.
Are there any other suggestions people have?

RTZ 1549's have fantastic shelves that you really need to hear. I own a Clarophionic, but would rather use a stepped eq on the mix buss that can be recalled and know that the eq's settings match dead on. Also, you can get in between the stepped settings with the 1549's for individual track work which is invaluable. It tops the Maag by a long shot in my book. It has a similar top end, going up past 30K and you can boost and reduce all 4 bands, not just boost the top shelf, like the Maag. To me, it's the single most powerful eq in 500 series. You just gotta try them a bit and you'll be hooked. This page will help you see it more before you try it. www.rtzaudio.com/PEQ1549.htmlYou can also send me a file and I will run it through them for you to hear what it's doing.

The Maag is great for that, but so is the amazing Clariphonic. I went with Kush. I love his weird way of aproaching things...

Harrison is having a sale on their 8-pack of model 32 style shelving EQ, which people seem to like around here. I use the UAD emulation a lot when I need an ITB EQ.

If you can find the modules and have somebody rack them up, Neumann W495b is pretty amazing in what it does. Hi, and Lo are shelving, mid has 3 switchable Q ranges. It's on my 2bus 90% of the time.
