Not really opposite because Bob L's room is much much larger which that photograph doesn't accurately portray. Bob K's idea was to get the console completely out of the picture. I love the Georgetown setup which has the console behind everybody. Sax had his room set up like that as well and the ATC's were built into the walls/sofit mounted. I understand its all now down the road in KS!

Unfortunately only the gear is down the road but not Doug's crew.

Yikes! Sorry the room totally kills it for me Bob Katz or not. Can a room like this even have a 'sweet spot'? I am sure Bob Katz knows what good monitoring is but he also knows people listen to music in living rooms. May he keeps some of the home flair? I read an interview with a famous mixing engineer (can't remember which one) who said he mixed with carpet on the floor because most people listening to speakers do so in carpeted living rooms. Of course, that is all changing with how many people listen on their phones and PC's with ear buds. Nevertheless, I've never been happy with my headphone mixes.
