So, Dangerous 2 Bus+ finally arrived.
Been mixing thru it for a few days..And Just finished four songs with a band this weekend. And I must say, so far I dig it. More tests (mixes) to do this week, and I'll really dig in.
Can't wait to hear what the band has to say about these mixies, but I must say... In short, it's built like a tank, and sounds sound pretty damn good.
Included a shot of what I used for mixing this weekend.

I would love to hear a shootout where someone mixes through one of these summing boxes, then does a second bounce ITB.
I wonder how much the mix would fall apart, if at all.

I actually did that the day it arrived, and it was NO contest~! Mixing thru the 2 Bus+ was noticeably better, in every way. By a long shot. (at least for me, and the way I mix)
That being said, I felt exactly the same when I did a comparison using my Neve 8816 summing mixer. Mixing thru the 8816 was so much better.

Paul could you compare the Neve to the Dbox?

OK, So we're having fun now.. or gonna be in the next few days. Haha
Any real comparison is gonna take a while, since I've just been contracted to mix a new EP for a Praise and Worship artist. Should take about a day or so to get things wired and ready to go.
So once I get everything wired, I will try to make sense of Mixing, thru the 2 Bus+, with the Apollo 16 & Octo Satellite, the Neve 8816, with the Apollo & Satellite, and then finally thru the TLA tube console.... Once that's done, I will switch to the Radar's Ultra Nyquist convertors...And do the same this time with outboard Eq's and Comps... Gonna be a long week.
I need a beer.............

Eric, Yep... TL Audio VTC console. 32 x 8 x 32. Had to wait a few years for it to be built. For better or worse, I've got the first one sold to a studio in the US!
64 inputs upon mix down. New tubes, New Chips, I just keep modifying it. Still it's sound s amazingly real!
And the ability to drive each tube section really makes this very versatile.

The new Smart is very twitchy....tweaky or whatever you wanna call it. In other words a little, and I mean very little goes a long way.
I bought 2 of them, 1 each for my portable rigs (as seen in the photos) Obviously I needed something small (500 series) for that particular setup. They offer quite a few new parameters, and adjustments then the originals versions.
At this point, they operate and feel quite a bit different then the the rack mount versions I have.
That being said, maybe I just need a bit more time with them before passing any serious judgement?

Not much "throw" huh? I know Steiger has talked about a mod that would add more throw in his FC526's.

Weren't you trying to sell it a year or two ago? We're you looking to move into something else? AWS or something?
