Interesting. He said he'd run a pass without the filter and with, but he only ran one with it. After all that hype, a simple A-B should've been a no brainer. My mic always has the rear capsule on, even though it's ever so slight, even when set to cardioid. That's the way Neumann M-49's, and a few other mics work. I sometimes feel too much room, so this might be worth a look. I had the top of the line SE Reflexion filter, and hated it.

Thanks for posting, I might not have found this otherwise. you better watch the vid again MJB I like the un hooded version, it's more usable in a mix, the reflector gave that familiar hooded whoomp that sounds unnatural to me, i never liked those things, put a piece of owens on your ceiling above your head, toward the center of your room, it'll save you a couple $, and give you a better sound imo. |

Ha  I thought it was the opposite that in the mix first section the vocal sounded tighter and then when the sub title went away you could hear the room sound around the vocal I was listening through my headphones. |

Thanks Tony, he was so busy being clever, I couldn't take it anymore, so i jumped right past it ! I like the plain room sound better. I think it had more life, but that's me.
