The one you have an irrational emotional attachment to...regardless of whether it's good or not. Guess what mine is?

I have 2, both pairs.
A set of 14" k custom dark hi-hats that sound fantastic on anything, at least to me. Nothing beats a great set of hi-hats.
My Mackie HR824 mk1 monitors. I've had them forever, they're what I know, and I love them. I bought them used off ebay probably a decade ago. I got them cheap, one of them had been dropped, denting in the rear panel... stuff's screwed up in there, but I'm not about to try and fix them and possibly change the sound I know inside and out. I've spent 10's of thousands of dollars on everything else, but for some reason can't fathom to replace the used, slightly broken monitors I paid $450 for.

I've had my HR824's since 96,97,98? so long i can remember haha, I too know them extremely well, i'm introducing new monitors that are "better", but the 824's will stay on the bridge with the others and serve as ole faithful. My one piece of gear that is my "wooby"(what ever that is?), my 1972 Jazz bass.

I have had the same acoustic guitar since I was 19. It's not worth any money, which helps keep it around....but, sentimnetal? When I think of all the nights at the lakeside with that guitar--exploring my youthful soul for some flash of truth...all the recordings...the women...the rest I could replace--cut me a check.

Well, I had to sell the only piece of gear I was ever attached to, but the Soyuz 0-11, and the Louis Electric Colombia that I can't own are pretty close. I get nervous just thinking about them.

I've got a late 90's American Telecaster I bought when I was 15 off Craigslist (14 years ago! Early days of Craigslist). Its probably the piece of gear I've had the longest. I recently put in some Bareknuckles pickups because, well, I was bored with it. I like them, they are the darkest/most vintage ones they make. I also put a sparkle pick guard on it recently and I kind of regret it. I had too many guitars with tortoise shell pick guards and wanted to try something different. If it was Arctic white and not Olympic it would look better. Probably go to a plain black one soon.

My DAW.. I hated tape - just about everything about it - the noise floor - the hiss - the lack of dynamic range (I couldn't afford high-end stuff and had very little outboard gear). DAWs changed everything. I get all goosebumpely every time I slap on a plug.
