Yamaha Q2031A. Monstrously good Graphic EQ. It takes socketed input transformers on the back (features a transformer in/out switch for flavors) and can be upgraded with an output transformer for each channel as well (factory option). Super quiet and over delivers compared to any plugin EQ I've ever tried. I run mine into Zulu and it also offers 10db of analog gain if you desire. SCHWEET. Thanks -L. Those look cool. Do you have stock transformers in it? What are they? No transformers installed in mine(yet). I have Altec line trafos that are octal. They should work. I'll report back with news. Thanks -L.

See from my FOH and Wedge days the Yamaha Graphics were the worst! They were plentiful because people could finance them with the board! Those things have very little headroom and were noise machines! Give me a pair of Whites with Transformers any day ! Time to revisit them then. The noise floor on these is in the early -90s range and I'm able to peg the shit out this particular model with very little distortion. There's many Yamaha graphic eq for sure but this ain't one of the ones you're mentioning that has those negative attributes. Worth a shot! Thanks -L. No those are the ones! The B is just as bad, I even know a Yamaha rep who hates them ! Try some of the rotary Whites ! I remember a club that pulled those old Yamaha's and thought the Alesis was a giant step up !

This thing is extremely quiet, clear and free from distortion. Maybe it's better suited for DAC to ADC loops than PA use? Alan Evans showed me how good his sounded with Zulu and it was bananas. I've tried other EQs and they didn't outperform the Q2031A. Strange that it's doing so well. But so far that's two owners with the exact same experience. I used it without Zulu as well and the experience was the same as far as noise, clarity and distortion. Thanks -L.

Dude my partner at Handsome had a pair on a session with Jerry Marrotta way way back in the days and he remembers them how I experienced them now. Quiet and clearish, but it was studio work not live. Analog tape no digital. That is intriguing to me that these have such a bad rep. The 2031 uses a 18v power supply for the opamps (4558/5532). This gets you lower noise, lower distortion etc... Thanks -L.

It might have been the pots, in Wedge world those pots were always being moved, I don't know of anybody from the live world who liked them! You wouldn't see " NO Yamaha Graphics " on rides because like I said they were cheap and you could finance them with your PM3K! Next to a KT, BSS, XTA Audient TDM or TC ! Like I said you want a really good Baragain Graphic try a White! The faders in Graphics are just Crap, the rotary Whites make recall possible, most of the old Augsperger systems I have seen had Whites for tuning, there are many versions of the White including cuts only and many have octal socket Crossover modules. Easy to find for less than 100!

Picked up a racked pair of tele v676a's for less than a pair of capi's and 4 very large 22000uf 80v filter caps from mouser for the sx-1250.

Picked up a racked pair of tele v676a's for less than a pair of capi's and 4 very large 22000uf 80v filter caps from mouser for the sx-1250. Those are great preamps - I have a rack of 6 of them. Did you get the ones off ebay? The listing said that one of them didn't work in the 60db position. If so, it's one of the relays inside that is controled by the front panel switch. If you open that relay cover and clean it - it should hopefully come back to life.

I got a ridiculous deal on a Fender American Vintage '63 Precision Bass. It's got some wear and tear, but I actually kind of dig it.

Sontec MES-432C Attachment DeletedOkay it's not mine! I was asked a take a look at two of these at our regular mastering studio. Apart from some leaky caps some of the HS2000 opamps appear suspect. There is quite a few of these around planet the crying out for a HS2000 solution!

bowie hooked me up with some excellent NOS Telefunken tubes for my Tab-Funkenwerk V72S. Old school, quality glass is not cheap, but worth it.

Put La Bella flats on it, adjusted truss. Plays exceptionally well and so light! I got the 58 AV sunburst precision a few weeks ago. it is beautiful and a serious joy to play. ordered some labella 54 originals for it. admittedly, this is my first time buying a new bass. first was squire and then a MIM. Both were craigslist buys and I never changed anything about them. Any tips on adjusting the truss for the labellas? they should be arriving in the next few days.

Got the Chandler REDD which sounds glorious and also ordered Sonic Farm Beamer that hopefully will arrive in a week or two.

Just ordered in a 3U GZ67FET, tried out the TLM67 / Peluso P-67 and from clips at list really digging the 3U.. Also kept the LYD-48's (instead of returning them), I might as well go buy some distressors etc. as it appears I'm a "Shadow of ragan ".. (Because I keep buying / enjoying the same gear he has)..
