Love my Heiserman 47t - and for my singing - especially with H7 capsule. If I only had the h47 capsule, it may not have been my favorite for my voice. But from what I can tell, for drum overheads, instruments, etc. the 47 capsule rocks.
By the way, I put in Telefunken ef800 tubes.
As to the Signal Art - I hope it is super great!

Yep I have the Siemens installed and the RFT as a spare. But i am fortunate enough to have a few other variants like the Tele EF800 and others sitting in the cupboard. This does have the Heiserman K47 capsule in it and it is indeed very nice. Enjoy

Perhaps for vocals, the H7 capsule would have been more to your liking. But who knows? It looks like the Signal Arts comes with a M7 capsule by default, and if that is what you received then that should sound different than the Heiserman H47 capsule. So a better comparison would be with the Heiserman H7 capsule. Of course one is advised to check things out in their own space, their own signal chain (which can vary even for one person - like using different pres), etc. Cheers!

Yeah it has the heiserman k47 not the m7 style capsule. But maybe the next one might have that as an option. I am intrigued by the M7 capsule. I once had a beesneez mic with a his custom m7 capsule. Man that mic sounded so good - until it died. BUt hey thats another story for another time.

Nothing too exciting...a resistor to repair my old API 525 and a different op amp to try in my Milab VIP50 Jim Williams recommended to me that may lower the noise. Also my quarterly D'Addario order of drum heads, strings, and little accessories.
I bought a 1963 Epiphone Bard 12 string awhile back and it needs a neck reset, which I've been avoiding because it's so expensive, but I think I'm finally going to do it. Right now it's unplayable, so I'd rather put a bunch of money into a guitar and probably be worth less than I have in it than a guitar that's worth nothing.
Besides that we're building a small expansion on to the studio so there's a lounge/kitchen area. Having a place for people to go and talk that isn't the control is going to be great!

It’s so nice having a place to tell people to go when they won’t shut up and you’re trying to work!

Acquired a few weeks ago, but gotta give a shout out to the Empirical Labs DerrEsser. Beats every damn plugin and de-esser plugin or plugin chains I've thrown at the vocals. Thing is super smooth and easy to dial in. Does something nice and special. Man I’ve wondered about this thing.

You guys are going to love how much quicker and just easier life is when you get the band out of the control room.

Me too, and from reading all that I could about it, it seems that the cheap DBX 520 does the job better more often, according to many? I'd love a comparison between deesser hardware.

Lol in true RGO fashion, since I was gonna run to the Apple store and snag my wife a new iPad for her birthday, I decided I may as well get me one AND, a Mac mini M2 Pro. 🙄

Haven't bought much in the last 6 months, but I more than made up for it this week.... First, I took a whirl on the SSL UltraViolet 500 EQ. I like dedicated stereo EQ's and it seemed to be a good one. Jury is still out on it, but seems OK so far. Second, I updated my studio business transportation situation with a valentines day combo.... Been with a RAM truck for close to 20 years for my biz but as of late I've been without a vehicle for close to 2 months cause my son totaled his truck in an ice storm and I gave him mine. So I bought a new last years model 2022 Jeep Gladiator that jeep was closing out. Just BECAUSE! Life is too short. I can use it for studio business, transporting my gear around, and client excursions into the great NorAz locale's. Absolutely loving it so far. Best "studio investment" I've made in years - super fun. (unfortunately, one of the most expensive too....lol). Giving new meaning to "gear" and "accessories"...... Next up - (fingers crossed) - an H251 when they get them going!!

And there are a few subtle red accents (Rubicon) throughout. I might have hit on something there. [ Edit : I will post pics of the Silver Bullet mk3 later.... ]

I have the DBX 520 and its awesome My baseless assumption has been that since I didn't like the 286's De-esser, I probably wouldn't like the 520. I was using the DerrEsser for about a year before pulling the trigger on the XQP 2531, which has been my first-choice/go-to ever since (though not completely replacing "pencil" in PT).
I might see if I can find a used 520 and do some comparisons sometime down the road. I absolutely hate messing dealing with de-essers in DAWs - probably something to do with the immense adjustability vs. a series of small knobs.

The 520 is basically the 902s de-esser in 500 format. I've never used that one myself, but maybe helpful to know for frame of reference.

Musicians friend has 15% off, plus 8% back in store credit. I’ve been eyeing it for months & finally bit the bullet to replace my RME multifaceted II
Lynx aurora N 16 USB ended up being 3240 with 260 back in store credit
