TurboTax Home & Business 2021. Man Have you been listening or what?😎 OK here we are a house of H&R Block, not because the HQ is 4 blocks from home or because the Block Cancer Center pays the rent ( good reasons in my book) but because it is better than any other tax software at handling income taxable by 2 different states! So Mark I applaud the boring adult non gear investment what I am trying to say that each has its advantages, you just have to find the one that works best for your situation ( TurboTax had me paying 2 states for the same income).

Purchased a shiny new Paiste Signature Traditional 17" thin crash this week. I emphasize new because for the last decade or so I've only purchased older used Zildjians. But I needed something with a bit more shimmer and sunshine for some upcoming gigs and this fits the need perfectly. It feels great under stick - dark undertones with heavenly highs. And even though it's a thin it has great headroom and doesn't splat out when hit hard like so many thinner cymbals. No stray frequencies like the 2002 series either --a really well crafted cymbal. <button disabled="" class="c-attachment-insert--linked o-btn--sm">Attachment Deleted</button> I love a great sounding thin crash. Looks good too.

Bought a Fender Squire 1960’s reissue bass on impulse I have know idea why . I own an original Fender 1960 p bass and no there not even close to the same ,but the Squire plays great sounds great in its own way but totally different. I own an original Musicman , Modulus flea , 72 fender fretless P, Robin freedom bass, 1983 G&L L1000, and this Squire is a keeper .. I even replaced the original stock fender strings and put them right back on they sound awsome . Very shocked and impressed lol

Ha! I hear you, Eric. I've been using TurboTax since 2002, so 20 years now. Fortunately I understand its quirks, and have verified a few things with CPAs along the way. I may well give H&R Block's software a try one of these years, but I feel pretty comfortable with TurboTax overall. Plus we use QuickBooks for the photo & film business, so TT kind of stays in the family, so to speak. My opinion is that ALL of these companies lobby Congress and conspire to keep our tax code as complicated as possible so that their services are still required. It really shouldn't have to be as complicated as it is.

Aurora(n) 16 analog, TB3 - installed and running great. I bought a hosa dsub snake to take care of initial testing but I'm waiting on a few snakes before doing the final install.

My Dangerfox Genesis 24 U Console desk is finally here! Wow, I really like the design/look of these desks. Definitely going to take a deeper look here. Congrats!

My Dangerfox Genesis 24 U Console desk is finally here! Wow, I really like the design/look of these desks. Definitely going to take a deeper look here. Congrats! Yeah. I had been watching them for a number of years and more recently saw a bunch of YouTube Studio guys add them to their studio, so when I was finally ready to make the jump I felt more confident about it. It's really solid and made of plywood, not MDF. They had a a side car that lines right up with the desk too, as well as another 14U floor rack that hasn't officially been released yet. So, I can expand down the road as needed.

Bought a DOD R845 spring reverb off eBay. Interested in hearing this one…it has adjustable pre-delay, 4 “presets” (which I guess selects how many springs it runs though?) but also a “decay time” knob, as well as a simple EQ. There’s not much about them online
Also a Retro Sonic Flanger to replace the V2 Electric Mistress I sold for $700…I don’t need a $700 flanger pedal

Finishing up a current build project. Body from Reverb, WD brushed gold pickguard, Schaller black brass knobs, Dimarzio Area 58 neck, Virtual Solo Middle and bridge, Schaller Lockmeister with tungsten trem block (heavy!), naval brass string insert blocks, titanium string lock and intonation screws and bridge posts. I used titanium mostly for durability. Also swapped out the fine tuners for a brass set. Just waiting on Warmoth to finish a roasted maple neck which it appears they are taking a nap on... It had a Floyd O2000 on it prior. The Schaller with the changes took a little zing off the bridge pickup and added some liveliness, heft/thickness and articulation. This thing covers a lot of ground and plays great. Found out in the process that Floyd Rose is now 15 minutes from my place, I picked up the parts in person, nice folks. Here's a shot, yep I am a sucker for binding. gold and black.

Currys PC World is an electronics chain in Ireland/UK, www.currys.co.uk. Looks like payments through this checkout are going to a Russian .ru domain, tread lightly.

I'm having my 20 year old AD2022 serviced. New preamp circuit boards and electrolytics all the way 'round. There are a bunch of 'em in there. I hope to get it back good as new next week (it's been gone for 7 weeks). Love it on kick and bass; acoustic guitar, too.

Uh oh. Now you've opened the 500 series proverbial can of worms. Yeah. It was the easiest way to get a full SSL channel strip, plus the space saving.

Most of my fun money has gone towards getting things repaired and parting ways with gear I haven't been using but I did take the upgrade offer for ezDrummer 3. Also my Mac mini, only 18 months old, had a logic board failure and can't be repaired (or is more to repair than replace) so I'm trying to decide if I just want to rock a laptop for mixing at home or invest in another desktop.

Picked up a used Drawmer DL441 from the local big box store -- doesn't sound too bad; if I were doing an analog live rig, or if we were in the era where digital boards were not a-plenty, I think this is thing is killer for the cost it goes for used.
While the comps are solid, I wish the peak limiter were a little less polite/considerate.
Probably going to return it and wait for the RNC's to show back up, but not a bad piece at all.

I got a 2ru 2ch Gates SA-70 clone from James at Downbeat Studio in Chicago. Sounds awesome and James was great to work with, reminded me of Chris at Barbaric where I had a few ideas and he was game to try it out. Ended up working in variable negative feedback and the ability to unload the transformers for even more tonal options, he has some posts about it over at GroupDIY and on his Instagram. All in all super happy with the tone and at half the rackspace and much cheaper it's successfully quelled the Coil lust I had.
