I bought the Electric Grand C70P for $35 plus 15 pieces of jam currency, added the Electric Piano Bass, Stage 73 Mark V, Wurly Model 120, Fractured Piano, Shipwreck Piano, Malletension and Malletopia for free... then got tired, will pick it up in a week or so... but there'll be even more freebies to deal with then... might've bitten off more than I can download here... Yeah, I am downloading like a mofo here.....LOL so far I grabbed the Hammond Sample Tank 4 Mellotron 2 Wurly 120 Stage 73 CP70 Leslie SVX2 MODO DRUMS next is the Sunset Studio Reverb, then I dunno cheers Wiz Also bought the Comprexxor for $91 and went on a drums binge; Billy Cobham Drums, Hugh Padgham Drums, Neil Pert Drums, Terry Bozzio Drums, London Grooves, Cinematic Percussion and Orchestral Percussion. Tossed in some guitar toys for good measure; AmpliTube Leslie, Fulltone Collection, Brian May, Joe Satriani and... the Dimebag Darrell Collection. Now you may be asking 'do you really need a solid-state Randall modeler?' Maybe, maybe not, but if I ever do...

Oh no you didn't! Crack open a Miller High Life! It's the champaigne of beers, and all you will be able to afford after that console. Congratulations, I know that was a long time coming. Sooooo pumped. You said poppa needed a new console in the classifieds, but WOW. Congrats!!!

Hugh Padgham Drums . . . GIGANTIC SNIP . . . Hugh's drum sounds? The worst ever! THE BEST EVER! Even Mr. Padgham has said that. LOL My favorite thing he said about his won drum sounds was "if you listen to the snare in isolation it sounds like shit, but in context, it pops and makes it all come together". He's said similar things about all his drum sounds. GENIUS. I love his results and final mixes, and always live by the "in context" rule of thumb.

Finally grabbed a Josephson e22S, hoping for the end-all-be-all snare mic. I actually don’t love it on snare so far, but was pleasantly surprised by how much I like it on guitar cab! Pretty killer on cello too. I guess the M201 is as close as I’m gonna get to an all-purpose snare mic…

I have 3 of those 201 Beyers and LOVE one of them on hats! Never thought I would ever move away from a Neumann TLM102 on hats, but here we are.

I prefer my Soyuz 013 Tube mics for toms though. Never tried the 201 on hats; definitely will though!

I got some Waves plugins. One of them is the TG12345 which is almost as cool as jcoutu1's console... but to be fair the Rupert Neve console is probably a little bit better.

I grabbed Metric AB for $30. I have its predecessor, Magic AB from Sample Magic, and was hesitant to buy essentially the same plugin twice. The newer Adptr Audio version is much easier to work with.
I ordered a Beyerdynamic M201 and Oktava MK-012, which should keep me occupied on capturing acoustic guitar and drums for a while.

I lean on it so much.

In my early teens, I thought all drums were supposed to sound like that, that it just naturally happened. Never realized how much work it took!

Finally talked myself into going 500 series for 1 channel strip + goodies. BAE 6-slot on reserve (feels like every chassis is on backorder), and now I just have to figure out what to load it up with.
Definitely getting the AudioScape V3A next time that pop's up. Not sure what other flavor of compression I'd want... maybe the Serpent Splice? An Elysia mpressor? May hold out on grabbing an EQ until we hear more about a potential Neve AudioScape...
I'm starting to feel like I sort of jumped in without a game plan.

I haven't tried or acquired one yet . . . but a lot of happy folks.

Cancel that six space and upgrade to a 10 space. You’ll thank me later. I was really considering going the Purple Audio Sweet Ten route, but I really don't want to carry around another 3U road case (or opt for a larger road case than I already carry)... I've sort of come to terms that whatever ends up in the module will mostly cater towards mono (assuming I don't end up with an xpressor or something that can be used in post for stereo); but I'll definitely weigh out the suggestion, given I think we have a week or two at least until they come in stock.
Oh I’m sure there’s lots of folks here that can help with that… The LH95's are indeed in stock...

Plus you have the Lava Lamp ready to go. Priorities, man. I had three in the old studio. Moved to the new place two years ago and am fully up and running. Except for the Lava Lamps. Can't figure out where to put them. Congratulations on the new desk! -09

I lean on it so much. MetricAB is stupidly good. Have to quote you on this one. I was using it to compare rough mixes and mix revisions. You can set it to mono, do the automatic level match. It's way easier to critically listen in this environment. I was using it to set balances and tones, to "beat" a client rough mix, and my own previous mix. First time I ever properly exploited its powers, but I'm floored by it.

Yeah it provides a huge gain in overall results for me. Desert island! Comparing to reference mixes or comparing multiple songs on a record or whatever, it’s so good.

Just ordered some Seventh Circle Audio stuff: cmo2 8 bay chassis and psu, Neve 72, 2 Jenson 99 with op amps and the new 2 channel di module.
Really looking forward to building and trying this stuff out.
SCA has a new SSL pre module and Harrison filters too!
