I spent $50 on the PA sale I wasn't planning to, mainly to add some additional AAX DSP plug-ins. I got bx_console N, bx_masterdesk, bx_rockrack and a second license for Purple MC77 bundled with Carbon this week, then added townhouse Buss Compressor, SPL Passeq and Metric AB using the three $20 off vouchers. Huh didn't realize the BX stuff was dsp. Cool

My 2020 summed in one pic. It was worth every penny and long nights. Now waiting for my new room to be build and all this will be re-racked flushed Into a wall. Do you have issues with sample accurate HW inserts if you use Pro Tools? How well do the 4 UAD Apollos work & record together? How do they all connect and communicate?? That wall of gear is legendary! Happy that you had a busy year & were able to invest back into your business & passion!

Grabbed a Mutron Bi Phase II to kick off the new year. Looks like most of the pedals are available this morning. These are usually out of stock and go fast: www.mu-tron.com/shop/

Just received my second JZ Amethyst -- bought the first one on the Black Friday sale, and the second on the "So you missed the Black Friday Sale" -- I guess I'm a fan!

Beautiful! So what is the difference between the C-24 (stereo C12) and the C28?

Traded a Royer 121 for a 1968 Epiphone Cortez. I had one in high school and never should have sold it, so excited I found one locally and someone was up for the trade.
Also got a Slingerland drum set that most likely I’m going to part out...it has a 14” floor tom which is where the money is but the rack and floor tom have some changed out hardware which kills the value. Great sounding drums though.

Beautiful! So what is the difference between the C-24 (stereo C12) and the C28? The C28 is the small diaphram, end fire version of the C12. This has a CK28 capsule instead of many that were changed out for CK1 capsules. This capsule is one of my favorites. I will probably make a headbasket so I can stick a CK12 on it also.
I have a pair of C12a's coming next week.

Funny how in the era when mics were big they tried to minimize the mic on the set. Now in the era of subminiature mics and everything is lip sync we are in the age of big mics as props.

I think on Conan O'Brien there is a live LDC on the desk as a backup. He has a repeating bit of slamming down on the desk and saying it's not real, etc, it's pretty amusing. Probably wouldn't want to do that with an RCA 77DX

Probably wouldn't want to do that with an RCA 77DX All the desk mics on talk shows are pretty much props / last resort back ups. All the hosts are wired up with wireless Lavs. The problem with using the Desk mic is your going to hear all the head movements of the host, you could go Omni on the desk but then you risk picking up people in the first row if we ever get back to live audiences. A pair of MKE2’s and 2 transmitters plus an IEM fold back is pretty standard and pretty smooth.* *Conflict alert I was a compensated Sennhiser endorser specifically for the MKE2 for broadcast. The thing was when I got out of the hospital and my trake was pulled I was doing all these interviews and all these locals were using Sony ECM’s I just sounded like Gravel so Senn gave me a couple of Wired MKE2’s for doing interviews. Funny thing is guess who all those locals bought all those Sony’s from!

Beautiful! So what is the difference between the C-24 (stereo C12) and the C28? More to the point might be, "What are the differences between the C28b and the C60?" The C60 uses an AC701 tube and the transformer is in the power supply. The original ELA M260 is the same mic as the C60 but with the transformer inside the body. Both of these mics sound terrific if they have their original C28 capsule but lose a bit with the ck1
The C28c and the C61 are more similar. They both use the nuvistor 7586.

That wall of gear is legendary! Happy that you had a busy year & were able to invest back into your business & passion! Protools only supported 32 I/O ( we’ve divorced till they remove that crap ). The Apollo’s work so seamlessly it’s SCARY. Very plug and play. Actually this is midlife crisis..... I don’t run a business lol. I just always admired albums of yesteryear and wanted the gear they used.
