My studio partner had a couple new roll around racks commissioned so we can have outboard closer to listening position.
This prompted me to expand a bit since I only want to completely redo the racks once if possible.
So that meant:
2nd hand Avid Omni Simple XLR Patchbay Lots o' cables.

Snagged a Retrospec Juice Box DI locally at a good price. I’ve been using one at another studio and feel in love.

Despite it being Christmas season and my promise not to 'upgrade' the arsenal until after New YEar's had gotten fuzzy in the memorygrams,
I picked up a matched set of Beyer Dynamic MC930s
And another 1930s Montgomery Ward (made by Gibson) Archtop.
The 930s are divine . . . the arch-top needs love.

Well. Bought a PCM41. Hoping to have a reverb plate up here in the next few moths, an Echo Plate II a friend is loaning me for a while. Gonna use the PCM41 for predelay. Not a cool as the brother PCM42. But I'll get a couple of those eventually.
L10 500 rack..was too cheap not too..
Kt-2A..also too cheap not too

Added to the guitar amps and cabinets arsenal this week. Deals came along that I couldn't pass up! Added a Ceriatone Yeti 50watt head (the souped up Plexi design), an Orange 4x12 straight cabinet and a Mesa Boogie 4x12 normal slant cabinet.
And like so many others, ordered two Heisenberg H-U47 fet clones. . . and deciding whether or not to cancel my Stam orders and get a pair of 76 black stripes off Mr. Yetter.

Pretty damn sweet. The current deal is you get the SSL E-Series, Distressor, Helios, and Lexicon 224 plug-ins when you register the X8p. I already have the SSL and Distressor and it looks like I get my pick of any two UA developed plugins as replacements. As many plugins as I have, my choices there are very limited, but that doesn't bother me since I have more than I need.

I always look at their kit builds.

Manfrotto SuperClamp, some fittings, and a safety chain. With a name like that I was really hoping it was some esoteric piece of 70s audio gear. Then I googled it.

It’s one of those esoteric lighting / video pieces that once you play with it, you wonder, man where was this thing all my life! I had a guy who thought I was nuts when I showed up to a gig with a bunch of lighting stands I used as mic stands, he now owns more than I ever did

I always look at their kit builds. It's not really my thing, as such, but I bought it for the studio's amp arsenal. The Yeti is an extremely hot-rodded and modified plexi and the various stages of gain and tone mods make it extremely versatile! A lot of new-rock and new metal players love those things. As for me, I am most content with a Marshall 2203 (2 of those), a Plexi 1987 (1 of those) a Seymour Duncan convertible (2 of those), a Dr.Z Stang Ray or an old Vox AC30 (5 of those). Mainly because I grew up in the late 70s and early 80s and started playing professionally by the mid 80s . . . and those were the amps! And you followed Eddie and sought a way to vary voltage into a Plexi, followed Randy and tried the MXR Distortion+ and Graphic EQ 6 into a 1959 marshall, followed Rory or Brian and ran a treble booster into an AC30, copied Tipton/Downey and put a DOD overdrive preamp 505 into a 2203, or Dave Murray and ran a Boss OD2 into 2204s. The Ceriatone gives you MOST of those tones or similar enough without any pedals or do-dads...and then it does modern tone-shifted sounds as well. the use of the word 'flavor' was not used here as it is an annoying trendy word that has nothing to do with sound...

I just grabbed the Eventide/Newfangled Elevate Limiter collection. Today is the last day of that sale.
I am pretty dumbfounded. Immediately it seems to sound more clear and transparent than Pro - L2, with tons of extra features if you need them.
I've been having some transparency issues with the Pro L2 lately, and, like magic, the Elevate limiter seems to have solved them!
Be advised though that it takes up a MASSIVE CPU hit so I'm not sure if I'm even going to be able to use it on big projects unless I bounce them down first.
