So I've been balling on spending the money for this thing for several years. But holee crap. It kind've solves all my synth/pad needs for freaking ever. It might have even solved my B3 sound too. There's a B3 patch in there that sounds better than anything I've currently got. It's going to take ten years to really go through everything. Strings - wow. Not sure I'll use anything else now.

I bought Sylenth and Nexus and have Massive and FM8 - as I have NI Komplete 10. You really have to study how each of the software deals with oscillators and envelopes if you're going to get new sounds from anything but Nexus, which is basically a Rompler which you can only tweak FX and the arpeggiator. Synthesis is not hard to get to a certain level, but very hard to get higher. If anybody has Nexus and Omnisphere, I'd be interested in hearing about the differences.

Sal swears by Omnishphere and uses it a lot I'm sure. He does a lot of pop at his place.

I've used it a bunch and it really is the software synth of all synths. It really sems to give you endless possibilities. I use kontakt a good deal and thknk omnisphere will be one of my next big software purchases.

Absynth, Massive and all the other NI synths are just confusing to me...

I use Omnisphere since its first incarnation as Atmosphere. It's simply brilliant. Nothing else does what it does. get it.

I'm not really into the other NI players either. Although i have read some about running a guitar midi processor through them and getting some brutal tones.

Yes, I just a week or so ago bought Omnisphere and it definitely solved my pad needs. I have only experimented with it for a relatively few hours and already I am in love. With this newest incarnation one can feed it ones own samples and tweak it till it twerks in satisfactory audio blissitudic grooviness. Mighty fine, this Omnisphere instrument, mighty fine. I was also able to buy the thumb drive full version 2 for the equivalent of $370 (369 swiss francs) which is a fantastic, fantastic price. This made it a no-brainer for me. I highly recommend this thing.
