Hey Ragan follow up trigger question, I notice the Deluxe pack has the newer unprocessed samples. Were you running trigger platinum or Deluxe ? "The Deluxe set adds 16 Snares, 14 kicks, and 19 toms to your Trigger Drum Library. And these new drums are unprocessed, but recorded with such amazing detail that they will sit in the mix effortlessly. If you want to customize the drum samples, they respond beautifully to eq, compression, and other effects. thx ! I have both (I believe, I'll double check). I just don't believe the ad copy. They still sound overcooked. The Blackbird pack is the only Slate stuff that sounds good and real to me. It's much better than the others (to me).

I usually make my own but these two are nice: roomsound.org and iwantthatsound.comI have no idea any of you use Trigger, it's always out of time when I use it so I replace by hand using single shot stuff.

I don't need anything other than the ~35 multisampled kits included with Ableton Live suite - I think they're all by Chocolate Audio (who also do Kontact and BFD kits). With GrooveMonkee midi clips playing through those and careful control of velocities, it sounds very, very awesome.
Tell you my secret. Every drum in these packs has between 16-30 velocity layers. I put Max4Live midi velocity control devices on some of the individual drums, and on the kit as a whole. Then I midi map those velocity devices to my control surface. That way I can control how hard the individual drums (and the whole kit) are being hit right from the mixer in real time. Sounds about 10000 times more lifelike than just changing the volume of the samples, and it's way easier than drawing velocity curves into the piano roll.

Here's some more stuff y'all: www.hightail.com/download/ZWJVSU5KMHdiR0pwdmNUQwI tried to upload 9 gigs today. Hahaha. Hightail only lets me do 2 gigs at a time. I can keep it coming if it's useful stuff to you guys. It was all given to me...this stuff flows around LA like water. I don't want to offend anybody or hurt anyone's business by giving away what should be paid for. If I'm crossing an ethical line here just let me know and I can pull em down.
