I've used them with Tim O'Brien, nice microphones they don't seem to feed back, probably because of how they are tuned. I know I've used it with him in the studio too, but I can't remember on what. Maybe vocals and mandolin. I think the McCourys have been using them live now as well...they've gone from Audio Technica to Neumann to Miktek to these. I think the price plus sound and look makes them appealing for touring acts

The demo vid shows most folk quite a bit away from the mic. Sounds good, I always though the better the mic sounded away from it, the better the mic was. But I don't know..

Very art deco, steam punk, and classic ancient microphone look to them. That's going to appeal to a lot of kids. It's nice to know there's some substance underneath that un-glossy coating too!

I've wanted a pair since I first saw them! I think they're electret, right? I had a pair of Scott Helmke's Alices (talked him out of retirement at a Chicago Tape Op Beer Night to build me a pair), and had to give them up when the studio closed. They were really cool for OH and Room duties; distance was key for theae to really shine!
