I was pissed that my base range after replacing the monitors was even on both speakers but ø 10-12 db in SPL louder than the rest of the spectrum. Me and a friend we did hard work the whole day long. My legs are hurting, my back is burning and I cant fall asleep. But I feel good!! Because nothing feels better if things work out the way you did plan them. Before Treatmenat. After Treatment. Base response SPL @ listening position near field.

Can't see the photos, mrholmes. Is anybody else having this problem? I assume you made some big bass traps!

Can't see the photos, mrholmes. Is anybody else having this problem? I assume you made some big bass traps! We did build a few more, the easiest base trap in the world. I am not sure If I should publish the idea its just 20 minutes to build one. Its 160 cm x 32 cm x 50 cm base traps out of Rockwool on each ceiling corner left and right. On the long side I already had 450 cm x 80 x 50 cm Behind the monitors is now the whole wall with 30 cm thick rockwool. If you place rockwool in the SPL maximum of a mode it goes down to under 40 hz see the waterfall diagram. Its also a matter how you pack it..... So called experts would have cost me a few thousands again, this time. After reading a few books it was clear to me that room treatmeant is shown to us as rocket science, but the basic idea is very simple.... Otherwise I would have failed this time. I expected to come down only 2 db it was 7db the rest was done by the 8040 internal eq. Reverb time is circa 200 ms its lightly longer below 100 Hz.

Nice! Before, I couldn't see them on my Android phone, iPad, or MacBook. Now I can see the plots on my phone. I assume they will show up on the others as well. Bass trapping is key to a good room, IMO.

Bass trapping is key to a good room, IMO. It was not too bad before but I learned if the REW plot shows OK in the RT go the extra mile with monitor placement and some more base trapping. Now I can make a statement about the low end without much guessing, or tending to mix the low end too loud. If I ever move again the new room will first get base trapping in all eight corners. Its easy to do and its cheap as hell. In one book I read you cant overdo base trapping because this is impossible. What we see here in the plots was just another 100 Euros of different materials. The rock wool was the cheapest part of it with 33 Euros.
