Hey, I'm asking this question because I'm wondering if the ProQ is really that much more transparent and useful than some of the other eqs I already have like the UAD Cambridge and Brainworx bx_digital v2? It looks like a great plugin with a great layout and everything, I'm just wondering if it's something I can't live without. I've seen so many great engineers using it. Any advice from anybody who has experience with these eq's?

It's really an amazing achievement. It's the best bread and butter EQ out there in my opinion. Fabfilter offers a friend discount. You can pm me your email address and I'll hook you up if you decide to get it.

I only have the original ProQ, but 4/5 times I reach for a digital eq, I'm grabbing ProQ.

Where are you seeing the sale? It's on sale at Sweetwater right now for $135. It's the last day of their President's Day Sale.

Yep. Definitely. I think dandeurloo has mentioned he likes a different eq better sonically, but the gui and flexibility is just the best in the business to me.

I do like the flux eq better but the flexibility of the Fab is hard to beat. I am glad to own both.

This is the best eq plugin i've ever used, bar none, as a matter of fact, it's the only plug eq that doesn't bother me.

I like it and use it and I suspect most people use it to filter and cut/notch out frequencies. However, it is not a very aggressive EQ if that's what you need and the Waves Q series parametrics basically does the same thing for about $79.00 less, without the gui which allows you to see and hear the shape and sound of the individual frequencies you're manipulating. I'd say it's worth the $79.00 for the gui, particularly for anybody who is a visual learner.

90% of the time Pro-Q 2 is what I use, but now that it's got the bugs worked out the PSP Avedis E27 is mighty good sounding...I can really shape a sound quickly with it but of course the Pro-Q 2 has great filters and for more "surgical" stuff.
