Somebody buy it so I quit obsessing...I've been trying to stop myself from selling my Helios and 1073 jr. to fund it...which makes absolutely no sense...

I say, sell the 1073 junior, buy the AML 1073 for about a G(put some pretty knobs on it ), keep the Helios, and be

Yes, the knobs matter to me...so sue me. But, I've got to say...I just have doubts the EZ sounds as good as the Heritage. I need to take the Jr. over to littlesicily's place and put it to the test.

I know guys over at GS have been asking for a heritage/AML 1073 comparison for quite sometime, i don't think anyone has done it yet. you should do it. The AML is the real circuit with Carnhill's so...?

I agree John. Looks matter. The AML looks cheap.

@johnkenn, I'd be happy to hear the H-Jr against the ez1073. I really like the ez after using many Neve-ish pres... vintech (ehh), BAE, etc. Never tried the H. Only criticism of the ez is the top end eq it a bit hard sounding.

Just the look...I know the correct thing to say is, "I don't care how things look - I'm all about the sound...I'm an artiste"...But I do. I mean, it's part of the passion in our profession...The obsession...Just like everything else.

^ I get that, but for $1000.00 less, you could put 24k gold plated knobs on it, and build a drip sta-level, now thats pertty 8)

Just bought a used 1073/500...(I convinced myself 6 months later ) I've had one before - and it was fantastic. Don't have the jr anymore, so I can't compare the two...Wanted to complete the cycle...Now I've got Neve, Helios and API (CAPI) covered...Now for pairs!

It does sound as good although different. It's not as beefy in the low mids as the Heritage (which for me is a great thing, probably not so much for you though). I would think the Heritage would sound better on your vocal. Acoustic, guitar cabs, (my voice) give me the the AML all day. Damn good amplifier. Just love it even if it does look like a turd
