Good vid from Namm:
Although Radar is running on a windows machine with pro tools, they have introduced the capacity to plug your mac keyboard in and it integrates with the Radar touch screen monitor which seems very well thought out too. All the windows seem scalable too and the touch screen seems to have a memory function.

Still in Beta at the moment...
Any decent touch screen will work, that being said, not sure what Josh' is using in the video?

Just such a great system....and it sounds excellent as well. RADAR has long been know for the sound of their Classic converters, now the DAW integration has put it over the top.

Barry gave me a demo of the new virtual session controller controlling protools, the integration was awesome; the Mac keyboard mapped to use in windows was killer too. I'm looking forward to playing with the virtual session controller here asap.

Spock, are you using Radar Studio? I've been happily using a Radar 24 for some time now and would like to upgrade if budget ever allows.

What touch screen was he using I believe it's a Planar Helium PCT2785 27" Widescreen Multi-Touch Monitor, but as nobtwiddler mentioned, almost anything 24" or more with a USB and HDMI connection currently works.

Thanks Johnkenn! We heard you don't mind having manufacturers participate in the conversation. : )

Thanks Johnkenn! We heard you don't mind having manufacturers participate in the conversation. : ) Be forewarned: We sometimes give manufacturers a hard time around here. Really put the gears to then, to use the vernacular.

Thanks Johnkenn! We heard you don't mind having manufacturers participate in the conversation. : ) Welcome to the party! My Gear Goal for this year is a Used 24 that next year will be upgraded to a Studio next year. back in the day I was embarrassed to be Full Compasses PT Specialist who felt even in the days of RADAR 1 it was a superior sounding and with the Session Controller easier to use recording system!

Thank you all! (A hard time is welcome on my end. That's how we get better.)
With respect to EricN, I've noticed that the price of our used gear is going up on all the Craigslist, Amazon, Reverb, etc. listings, but if you keep hunting you should be able to get a deal on a RADAR II, 24, V or 6. All of the sound cards are forward-compatible with RADAR Studio. (OTARI RADAR I doesn't work with new gear and protocols, but everything else does)
If you visit RADAR.re/configure_ and click on the Digital/Legacy bundle you'll get an idea of the cost savings vs. a new 24-I/O RADAR Studio.
Mind you we've improved the sound of the cards over time...
Any other questions?
