That BeesNeez looks less like a 251 than the one Tony posted. Tony - is that head basket round?

Wow. I'd just get the cheap one and be done. it's not like the cost makes it sound any different.

Im hoping shannon will have a ELAM 251 replica that houses the boards from dany/chung at GDIY. I have been in contact with him via email and appreciate hes a busy guy, I don't mind waiting I am going to build it up in the studio939 251 style body and wait for shannons version. I have built my ELAM 251 PSU and it works as it should, I will be finishing the mic next week. Cant wait to try it

Looks a little like this, no? I think the Avantone BV-12 uses the same body as my Blackspade UM-17B, only mine's a dark grey/black. I imagine they're sourced from the same place. They're completely different designs inside though. The Avantone's fit and finish is really nice, probably customized to differ from the generic body's and head basket. I think the Alctron is a pinch fatter and shorter but it's hard to tell. Attachments:

What currency is the T190? says 3980. Is that yen? If so that's $34.00 U.S.

They are nice bodies. The only gripe I have with them is they are so heavy. They can tip over on a regular stand very easily. Also scares me when hanging from a shock mount. Gravity is just waiting to smash it into the ground someday.

I know what you mean. I use a fairly good mic stand, well made, cost around $60, but I've seen my mic start to slip and caught it one too many times. As soon as I have some extra cash, I'm gonna go ballistic and find the superman of mic stands. There was one incredible company at AES, with these amazing stands that have a ton of weight, ultra firm grip, look seriously well designed and are easily configured to adapt to any situation. I've forgotten the brand, but will look around to see if I can locate the company.
