I want a Redd47 (or a TG2) Since I'm flying out all I want is a 500 Germ, rather than the 500 Germs I'll get on the plane!

You can make it up to me (ok, all of us here) by offering a NAMM/RGO-only special!! Any Chandler product of my choosing for $500! Limit 4. And I'd (ok, WE) would have to wear a Chandler T-shirt for at least one day at NAMM. Think of the advertising value!! That alone is easily worth thousands of pennies!!

I'll wear a Chandler T-shirt everyday until I die. Even get buried in one.

Safely settle away in the 'house of scream' in Orange County. Any pre-NAMM adventures or set-ups worth taking part in tomorrow?

Safely settle away in the 'house of scream' in Orange County. Any pre-NAMM adventures or set-ups worth taking part in tomorrow? Seriously, if I don't have any work to do whilst I'm here, I'll go crazy. So if someone needs help moving gear or setting up a booth, I'm all up for volunteering... no expectations of anything in return besides a good handshake and a laugh.

I will not get caught up in any VKLA NAMM special event or ensuing frenzy. That would be a great way for me to spend money on things I don't need. Nor will I get caught up in any canine/human/rodent hybrid either!!

Well, I have to give a giant thank you to spock for the fantastic deals on the Redd47 and the RS124, for $500 each, but letting me have the Zener for $500 as well was just beyond what I expected!! I can't wait to sell these for a great profit! KIDDING.

I got back last night from what was probably my last NAMM appearance. I'm still trying to kill the massive headache I got. This was the most crowded, noisy and disorganized NAMM show I've been to since 1976.
It was totally useless to try and audition ANYTHING. The background noise made that impossible. You step outside to get a break and then you get pounded by a DJ with the subs at +110db "exercizing" your guts while you try and eat lunch. BTW, that burger they sell there is unexceptable as dog food. My wife got a refund.
The gridlock around the convention center required a one hour wait to get into the parking lot. We were lucky to get into a Disney-only lot as most were being sent off to Anaheim stadium, 4 miles away. I don't know about you, but that adds a little too much distance considering you will need to put in about 4 miles to just walk the floor.
As in recent years, the freebies are mostly gone as are the name acts that used to perform there. The last 7 years have been tough and it shows at these conventions. Shoe-string budgets are now the norm as most are just trying to hold on.
The crowd was older and much fatter than in recent years. You do need to watch out for the 400 pounders using those powered carts, if they roll over your foot it can break bones. The old 80's metal heads and girlfriends are a sore sight to see. I wish I had eyeplugs to go with my earplugs.
NAMM is not the best place to see/audition new gear. The massive crowds of non-music retailer attendees crowds out all the booths and demos so retailers have a much harder time evaluating new products.
NAMM tries something different every year, usually failing. Instead of doing what has worked in the past, they always do something new. That adds to the disorganization. Music Messe in EU does it much better. They have strict attendee requirements for business days and then open to the public on the weekend. That way music store retailers can get their business done and then the rest can come in afterwards to play.
BTW, the NAMM office in the lobby has free earplugs for you, I suggest you pick up a pair...

LOL Yeah, NAMM seems "broken". Not sure what the fix is. They definitely seem to be clueless.
To give non-attenders a clue as to the insanity, the ambient noise floor at the LTL booth was constantly between 105-110dB. All day long.....
