I spoke with mike when he was getting my Splices ready. the Chimera is a 500-series version of a single channel of his SA3A. He sent me some audio clips of some voice and bass going thru it and the SA3A. They were identical, so that's awesome. If you know his SA3A, you already know what the chimera sounds like.

These jeff, mike, dave, rodney, colin etc.. guys from groupdiy amaze me with their designs! They are seriously gear angels sent from above to deliver us from bad sounds lol

The Chimera rules. It's the SA 3A in a 500 series. All 3 of the transformers and the T4b in it!
The Splice is amazing as well. Everyone who has heard it freaked out at AES. Mike is tearing it up. I will try and get some gut shoots of the Chimera. Its amazing how Mike is able to get these layouts to work. He's got skills!
You guys will love these once you can get your hands on them.

I have a pair of peter's LA3As, and also mike's SA3A. Peter's LA3A sounds like mike's SA3A when it's in Classic 30db mode. It has all 3 transformers, and a t4b. the only difference is that you gotta gut the T4B and harvest the 2 LDRs and EL Panel, so it's about 1/4 the original size and gets soldered directly to the PCB. Basically, they both sound awesome!!
