It will continue as long as we continue to pay. I'm not buying it anymore. Shannon's stuff sounds just as good if not better.

As long as there is a collectors market we will see these prices, just think what my Millennium Falcon from when I was a kid would be worth if it and the box were dead mint! but it's a fing toy!

If not .... dont sell it and tell your kids that people one day will pay crazy crazy money for this thing. Reminds me on an Oldtimer my father sold 15 years ago. I should say my stupid father, because now they pay 2 fucking million Euros for this car.... 2 Million .....

I've got the original Luke Skywalker doll unopened in the box. Looks like it's time to sell.

well gang, I just checked. have no fear, its somehow still available. www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-VINTAGE-NEUMANN-U47-STUDIO-MICROPHONE-BOX-ONLY/301819827530?rmvSB=truewouldn't it be cool, if we bought it as a group buy, and then took turns sharing it, shipping it from member to member. ah, a guy can dream, right? lol ok, just needed a little comic relief, eh? a further different lol good night Gracie. good night Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are.

hahahahha. yes, and in the spirit of a wish sandwich, ala en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubber_Biscuitwe could call it a wish microphone box. in which you had a microphone box, and you wished that it had a: "RARE VINTAGE NEUMANN U47 STUDIO MICROPHONE" in it.

Only if it has: a. The long chassis b. A new Telefunken VF14m metal tube c. A mint condition M7 capsule

I liken them to collectible antiques. Having a 50 year old table is cool I guess but we can eat the same dinner off a table from IKEA just as well. These new Chinese Fenders are damn good. Classic Vibe series for 300 bucks, yep. I just picked up a Thinline Tele Squire and it's rock solid after I set it up. I figured is have to change the pickups in it but these sound great. On recordings, who will ever know? I'm actually thinking seriously about putting a G bender in it. It's that good.

I am only writing this, because I like the juxtaposition of dollar figure, as you shall see forthwith. comparing 15k to:
I just got back from taking Mom to Salvation Army thrift store. I am now the proud owner of 1 slightly used fine epiphone acoustic guitar. it cost $39.99 + tax. at the store, I tuned her up a bit, and played it. sang. serenaded workers at the store. it played nice. sounded just fine. the first 2 guitars I had were epiphones. kinda coming full circle. nice beater. maybe give it away sometime to someone who wants to learn how to play. thrilled. hah.
