FWIW while LCR reduced the number of stages in a typical analog signal path back in the '70s, the real advantage turned out to be worlds better mono/stereo musical balance compatibility. We'd always had pan pots at Motown but the consoles at Heider's and Sound Labs had extra pan pot stages I could hear. When people began talking about LCR in the Womb, I tried it and realized it simply solves most of the mono vs. stereo issue.
