I picked one of these up and got it wired up to my console last night. Tell me about how you're using it. svart, mobeach, jazznoise, you guys have these? I set the L / R inputs of the unit on aux 3/4 of my board and am returning it to stereo return 1. No issues there, but I'm not sure what the best way to set the engine routing on the unit is. I had it set as stereo linked last night, but would "Dual S/R" be my best bet? This is the description from the manual. This will give me a stereo output from both engines to the single stereo return on my board right? I could just set the effect balance on the TC unit to 50% and use aux 1 and 2 to set levels to each effect engine. That would allow me to use the unit as a reverb and a delay right? Any downfall to doing it this way? Also, do you have any presets that you particularly like? Anything that works great? Anything that sucks?

The dual S/R will run one engine on L and one on R. Those two can be the same, or they can be different. What you get is essentially two independent mono effects, so you can consider the unit acting as two different rack units. The "stereo" option will link the two engines' settings so that editing one set of settings will also change the other. I don't know any of the presets by name, but a few really shine. I typically have a plate on one unit and a hall on another, and mix between them on the mixer aux returns. The hall I turned to a really long decay, like 6 seconds, and the plate was around 2 seconds I think. One thing I do is turn down the first reflection a lot, so I just get tails. that makes things really ambient, but with long reverb tails, more of a subtle thing.

So dual S/R wouldn't give me a stereo reverb and a stereo delay that both just output to L/R summed? That's what the language in the manual seems to imply. So when you use yours, you're only using 1 effect. Just a single verb returning to your console and have 2 or 3 different boxes to get different verbs/effects. That right?

The mix knob on the front adds a variable that I never really used, but I just fixed another M-one XL that I need to install, maybe I'll use that one as dual effects, and let you know how it works out.

Do you have other effects units that you're using hanging off your auxes? I can't imagine doing a mix with just a single effect. What sounds do you like about this M-One? Any specific effects/settings that you like? Anything I should reach for first?

Any specific effects/settings that you like? Anything I should reach for first? I have 1x Lexicon LXP-15 and two M-ones (and soon a 3rd m-one and a PCM80). I use the lxp-15 for modulation effects like chorus and delay and the two M-ones have reverbs, one plate and one hall. On the m-ones I started with some of the factory settings (can't remember which ones) but ended up with a couple custom settings. The plate is short, like 2 seconds, and the hall is very long, like 6 seconds but with the reflection turned down considerably, so it's really just a long tail. Between these 3 I can do most of what I want.

With the DAW I use it in Parallel, so both engines can be fed with the same signal, with my console I run it in Dual mode with Aux 1/2 then out to the stereo returns on the board.
