The videos look fantastic...I've got EVERY other kit...just din't know if this one would be worth buying or would just be redundant compared to SD and AD2

new to drumming. have a v-drum set. bought SD right away (1 year ago now). bought BFD 3 ~4 months ago. love SD and BFD 3. not sure how you would use them. I've never used a groove or beat or whatever they're called. never recorded. BFD 3 is much deeper. imho. humongous amount of features and controls. I just do it for fun. and for me, I am extremely happy with it. very glad I bought it. also, they have a new feature that greatly reduces how much space it will take on your hard drive (or SSD).

BFD is a pain in the a... used it many years. If usability creatvity and a ready to go sound is what you love xln drums or the stock ones in logic are great too.

Love BFD! It's all I've ever used. Nice natural sounding drums. I just upgraded to BFD3 for around $60 with a black friday deal.

i thought it sounded good but it was glitchy and used up too much cpu when i tried it. it sounds more natural and less processed than the others. could be a good thing for a tweaker but to me it just took too much effort to get it where i wanted.

This is helpful for me. I fell into a set of V-Drums a while back and have been looking for a VI to use with them. I've got Strike 2 but it's wonky sometimes.

Took a quick glance and was surprised to see that guys thought BFD3 was buggy! I installed BFD3 today and had no problems after about 6 hours of constant looping while auditioning sounds. Also the samples are nice and raw. I think BFD takes a very "unproduced" approach. That way you get to come up with your own sounds.

Long-time BFD2/3 user here. It's very deep and very good. We record live cymbals though, except for hats. The Love kit = instant Zeppelin

Yes, as long as they're the Air studios kits, it's all good. The ones Albini did were nice in a different way, too.
Unproduced is right....it's simply not processed--it sounds like a great kit meticulously recorded in a great room....which ALSO means it "taps like shit". If you think you can use some canned beat or just tap in a little beat really quickly, you will think it sucks.
I use the Air Studios room mics on nearly every mix I do.
But, as virtual drums for sequencing/demos/oneManBand, Fairfax Vol1 has replaced all this time around. But--you send me something to mix, I'm still going to the Air rooms. I just mean as an artist--I pick a sound set and make an era of recordings with them. Fairfax Vol1 is it right now....
