Did you guys see the new End of Year Universal Audio promo? www.uaudio.com/apollo-satellite-promo"buy and register any new Apollo rackmount interface (Apollo 8, Apollo 8p, Apollo 16, or Apollo FireWire) through December 31st, 2015, and you’ll get a UAD-2 QUAD Satellite DSP Accelerator — Thunderbolt or FireWire — absolutely free!" I think that just sealed the deal on me getting an Apollo 8p. Now, who wants to buy a Thunderbolt quad satellite from me? Do you think this is indicative that they are releasing an Octo Apollo next year? It would seem like it, but honestly I'd rather save some coin and just get a quad

Seems like a killer deal. If I wasn't so invested in other stuff already, I'd be all over this.

I bought my Apollo 8 a few weeks (at least) ago and I got an email saying it was recent enough that I get the free Satellite too. Amazing.
As for an Octo, they've said on multiple occasions that there physically isn't space for 8 SHARC chips in an Apollo so I don't think we're gonna see that. With a free TB Satellite though you're getting the same thing, which is awesome because I think you need an Octo worth of processing to really mix with UAD.

Its not so much the physical space, its the through put in the system, the current apollo design can't support more on board dsp. The new sharc ships are like dual core and use the same foot print as the current ones, the problem is the apollo design.
