If I track using cabinet impulse responses I miss the speaker compression, using the MJUC behind the IR is perfect for it. Feels very realistic and I can monitor using the desk and all outboard very cool, thanks to logics low latency mode I have found a very comfortable work-flow by now.

I've been happy as a clam with all the Logic comps so I picked up Jr. to try it out - and it's stunning.

The more I use this plug in the more I love it. I just "discovered the MkIII model. That makes two of us. This is a gem. As close as compressor to hardware as I've ever used. If it's leaving digital artifacts, I can't hear them. Neither can my dog.

If it's leaving digital artifacts, I can't hear them. Neither can my dog. I sometimes wonder myself, if it has artifacts it makes the impression it turns the source to a better. Also the way the MKII compresses it sounds very natural to my ears. I never heard that before with any compression. 24 Euros its a joke, everybody should buy it....

Used it on a heavy rythem guitar bus last night for a little pump and some weight. Bam. THICK. I love the tone options on the bottom and the drive. All very useful. Great plug.

Agreed. My favorite compressor plug in so far. The sonics can often be startling. Sounds expensive!

I agree with everyone here. I mentioned this is the other MJUC thread but what separates this plug from any other plugin compressor is the actual compression behavior. It clamps down (or grabs) like a hardware unit. No other plugin comp that I've ever tried does this. The tone is incredibly syrupy thick.

I bought it but where do you create an account? Or do they send your password to email address? You will get an email he manually process each order And Tony is fast at it. Even his service is excellent. I had some graphical issues, he solved it. Great developer with a good sense for the sound of the tools. I tend to use the UAD 1176 and his MJUC when using SW compression. Sometimes they win over HW. BTW who uses the S. Slate compressors? Do they clamp the signal as well, and give it a slight different quality?

I wonder if he has a bit of widening built into the algo, under the hood, to give his plug a slight edge.

I don't think its widening I put an image-er after and pulled it to the center did not sound any different. This group of compressors are stunning. Great time to be ITB.

I paid for the "Sr." version, loved it on vocals, then slapped it on a stereo (piano) track and it sounded like poo - clamping it down to mono? Is the MJUC mono? Do I need to break apart the track and use two instances of the comp?

I expect that because it's stereo linked, both sides will compress together when the threshold is crossed. So if your right hand peaks, it'll pull down on the left too. You might be better off unlinking (if possible) or splitting the piano to mono tracks and compressing each with a single channel of the plug. Compressing stereo tracks too hard with a linked compressor can narrow the image.

OK. Thanks for reminding me to buy it. Since the last post i bought it, got confirmation mail and user account, downloaded, installed and strapped it across a master bus in 3 projects, instead of the MJUC jr.. Definitely stereo. (And very nice...) Tested with Sonar Platinum, Mixbus 2.5 and Mixbus 3 on Win8.l right a minute ago.

It definitely clamps down on the spread with no way to unlink that I can find. No problem though, Logic's LA-2A emu is sounding pretty nice. I wonder why Logic's compressors don't seem to have this issue? There's no way I can see to link/unlink them either. I've used the MJUC on other stereo tracks including the 2-buss with no problems before and loved it. Strange..

Hm, can still be accomplished splittet in 2 mono tracks. I always hesitate to use unlinked compressors on a stereo track. Maybe Tony did not think of an unlink possibility if he does not use it himself on stereo compressors. Hm.
