I downloaded and installed and was up and running in about 30 minutes yesterday. One wierd thing at avid site it seemed it was loading 10 to 11 but this was just a wierd design there was a dropdown to select the 12.3 than all was good.
MBP 2012 I7 with ssd seems happier!

Since "upgrading" ( ?) to 12.3, I have had 6 instances of imported wav files disappearing from saved sessions and not being recoverable. Never had this problem with 11.
Our friend Henge ( Anton), contributed some fine bass tracks to my tune. I have imported them, done some comping and saved and now twice all the files have disappeared.
Prior to spending another $100 on pro tools, I thought about buying logic, but I thought another $100 fixes all the bugs in 11 and gets me the new features; think again.
I am on el capitane which as of yesterday was fully certified by avid with 12.3; go figure !

One of the senior people at pro tools expert has had the same problem. imported .wav files disappearing and being unrecoverable.
I ran Onxy last night, reinstalled el capitane and only just installed 12.3.

Kcatt, if you don't mind: Are you saying the .wav file is unrecoverable from the (a) session Edit Window and clip list, (b) the Pro Tools Audio folder, or (c) also the original folder the file resided in?

I have had a couple of times where I thought I had consolidated all the files in PT's and when I drag into Cubase, I notice a few aren't there. It could have been an error on my part, but I've never had that happen before and it has happened a couple of times now. I think that was even before I went to 12 too though.

I have had 4 instances of imported .wav files and two instances of a comped .wav disappearing form the entire session ( not in a,b, or c) and not being recoverable. I can see their references in the clip list but there are no wav files contained there. The session recognizes at start up that the files are missing but cannot find nor regenerate them. I had one reference to pro tools identifying the files in their download location. I have a few bars and or remnants of the comped tracks in place in the session, but 98%, I just see the empty reference to the clip with no sound file in the track. Sometimes I can see a link (select files to relink) but I cannot get them to relink. When I imported them I introduced them to the session as new tracks, not to the clip list; perhaps that is why ? I am also wondering about after I comped the track, I did not consolidate it before closing and saving so maybe that breaks the links and confuses pro tools ? Attachment Deleted

I think not consolidating the comped track may be my mistake ?

I'm saying I select all the tracks, consolidate and then some don't show up.

Hmm I redid my session but imported as a clip, comped and consolidated then saved. I exported comped track and saved it outside the session:fingers crossed

I'm on OS 10.9 and thought 12.3 fixed my input monitoring problem but no I still have to trash preferences then reload my session to have input monitoring. In you're opinions should I upgrade to El capitain?

I plan on getting logic at Xmas but got 12.3 as for $99 the new features and bug fixes were a good value as avid was charging the same amount (basterds:)) for 11.3 bug fixes !

I need to work in Logic a little bit. It really does have the most features, but unfortunately, seems the least logical.

I don't want to hijack this thread But I tryed for years to move away from PT. Tryed almost every DAW out and returning to PT with my head down, Logic was the last one I tryed and there is no way I am going back I find it very intuitive. John like's Cubase which I really struggled with Horses for courses I guess.
PT will be great as soon as the next version come's out and they fix the bugs. No wait it will be great as soon as the next version come's out. I know your pain..

I like Digital Performer. Every pop tour that I see from Madonna to FUN. use DP in their live rigs for playback of backing tracks. I find it pretty easy to go back and forth between DP and PT.
