Well, the rumour is the pre's are either the Midas Venice pre's or the same as in the X32 console. But as always, Uli keeps the service manuals of the newer products under very strict NDA, hard to get somewhere. So, it stays just rumours at the moment. And one thing is for sure - the pre's do have the biggest influence on the sound of the shootout files. And sure, the CAPI and Don NV pres sound excellent, but in a character way, and the mere fact that the ADA can even somehow compete in the guitar and bass tracks is somehow surprising. I had the same perception, knowing what was used for external pres, i had no problem identifying immediately the external pre recording with the drum track, but was surprised the other tracks were not so obvious at all.
Well, the old HD24 is not impressive (well, 2001)....i wouldn't invest in a drive caddy nowadays, either, no way.....

For 200 USD, the ADAs are a steal. No price drop in sight around here in Germany....
