Photo taken 90 min. before the show. Actually, they DID the show. AFAIK with another piano quickly organized. And had to compensate for the lack of instrument quality with a slightly changed program. The show must go on, definitely.

hmmm, 90 mins. to fire the dude, cry, replace with inferior piano, regain composure... that's deserves an award of some kind!

AFAIK, the stage floor was too weak for the weight of the Steinway, unexpectedly, and one leg broke in, leaving a hole in the stage, and therefore it dropped sideways from stage, breaking the leg also. Crazy story.

Not to make fun, but can you imagine the sound; wish it had been recorded.

Not to make fun, but can you imagine the sound; wish it had been recorded. I'm sure you could have expanded your vocabulary with the reaction of the stage crew.

True, it's wonderful when you get unexpected opportunities to develop a subtler appreciation for the linguistic nuances and social customs of other cultures

And that was going to sound great too in a gymnasium... you really needed a Steinway.

I want to click the "like" button, but that would be so enigmatic ..or oxymoronic ..or some other 'ic' word.
