doesn't it vary by the number of plugs you are selecting so up to a certain total percentage off based on buying more plugs not on just one ?
what plugs are you interested in ?
correction its an "up to' sale and the prices are as stated in the ua store
are you logged into your account so you can see the discounts in red ?

mr holmes, this is an honest question and not at all meant to incite any kind of arguments: is your avatar picture a representation of german-american heritage or a commentary on the strongly conservative view that the "American way of life is dissolving"? I'm not looking to argue and won't have any follow up comments, just an honest curiosity

I doubt it's political, I just assumed he loved American music/culture! Now if you swapped the American flag for the Euro flag you might really get mouths running...
Just kidding. I could never insult a place with beer as good as Germany! I have a few funny pictures from my Berlin adventure I should post, though.

I mean this in a non political way, because there is no faith in politics but cultural exchange makes a lot of sense. And thats what I do since the 80s with friends from the US. It makes the world a better place because we learn from each other.
PS: I see melting flags instead swapped ones.

mrholmes, you simply must get away from the "legacy" LA2'. The updated version is a completely different animal. It's about as good as emulation plug-in gets, and is quite useable. The legacy plug just seems like a muffler in comparison. UAD is very slick with their pricing, but does occasionally offer a decent deal. I think the days of very high priced plug-ins are beginning to fade away. I think it's a joke that a plugin costs me $400, when in truth, all I've bought is the right to use it, without the ability to sell it, or even a guarantee it will continue working and be updated. My WA76, Warm EQP-1A and Dizengoff D4 will serve me a lifetime I suspect, and they sound better than plugs. I would love to buy the Ocean Way plug-in, but $299 for what is essentially room reverb is way too little bang for the buck, I think. I just tried one of those silly looking new mics, the Neat Microphones King Bee, and if you can stand to look at a mic that resembles a Saturday Day Night live skit costume, you might think you found a vintage AKG 414 for $349. Ugly, but that is bang for the buck, maybe the 3U mics too, but I haven't heard them for myself. I can buy a fantastic Mexican Telecaster for $499 if I cherry pick while shopping, again, think on that versus a plug. I think we've been blinded by science, but my vision is getting clearer every day now.

I bought the 1176s when it was about 75$ that was OK as a legacy owner. But this was my last purchase in years. So its up to UAD to get a customer back... at the time I will only invest in new plug ins if it makes sense and the price tag is right. I wont spend 120 as a legacy owner... thats too much ... True I will rather put this in HW. And BTW I have a nice working opto, not LA2A but the VLA2 does not sounds bad. And it was 150 Euros used... WOW

mrholmes, wait a little, I'd bet that UAD will have a "special sale" at some point and offer the update for $75. Not cheap, but in the case of the LA2A, I think it's essential, if you use UAD plug-ins at all.

its already $200 off: $99 not $299; remember that is for 3 count em, 3 mkii fully emulated compressors so actually $33 a piece.

See, I told ya something would come up ;-) thanks kcat.
Still, $99 for an upgrade seems steep to me. Something like $49 would be a more acceptable price point. The upgrade shows just how weak emulation was when they did the first generation. Probably a long, long time ago I suspect.

I use the 1176 collection on everything...I think they sound fantastic. Now, if they just had a HPF and a mix knob...

I'd use my UAD 1176's more, but I'm out of dsp power. I use the CLA 1176, and it works just fine. I use it mainly on bass.
