I dont know why I like this band. Im not into British New Wave. (Or, is Joy Divison New Wave? I love Joy Division, but never "got" New Order)
Their lyrics are kind of a throwback to a golden age in danish language music, but thats not really translatable.
Maybe I just like the haircut...

So here's the thread for local/national artists you think are pretty damn good. I'm curious to what you guys are digging from your own areas. These guys are probably one of the biggest indie bands coming out of Ireland atm - Girlband. Absolutely amazing mix of Noise Rock with Dance Rhythms. Just went to the album launch and it was simply amazing: That's horrible, do they get paid?

That's horrible, do they get paid? This is how 'pay to play' originated.

SO much great music in the world. I keep coming back to this thread for Cosmic Psychos but have since discovered The Onyas and love them too! Punk rock is a nice break from striving for perfection.

Here's my buddy Dan. When my band was on the scene in Boston, we used to play a lot of shows and party together with his band. Now he's the guitarist with Avril. He just popped this new vid up on Youtube. Old tune that his band used to play, now he's doing it solo I guess.

That Jay White sounds good. I love bass players who sing, they often have such unique approaches to vocal lines. Especially love Esperanza Spalding. But Mark King of Level 42 is a fav. I thought this track ThunderCat just put out had a great rhythm and tone to the vocal line.

Thundercat is a mother fucking boss. Such unbelievable talent. He's part of Kendrick's live act I believe at the moment?

These guys are from my home town. They used to rehearse in a house around the corner from me. I met the keyboard player through my sister, a regular church goer. He was playing the organ at her church.

Doesn't live here anymore but used to. Josh (FJM) is one of my favorite people making music today. Smartest-assed misanthrope on the planet.

I've done a bit of work with this guy, he's written a number of strong songs. Always interesting when I catch his show.

I was shocked how good he was and his band. He was a trip. Most wardrobe changes I've seen in a while. A dapper dude! Attachments:

Great players all around.

I saw a fashion article where FJM was wearing a bunch of $500 shirts and stuff. Pretty funny. Good for him, make a buck anyway you can. Gotta survive.
