So true. I think PT 9 was one of the worst versions.

I feel like I've been on PT9 for so long that my expectations have been lowered to compensate. You just learn to live with the endless load time and the random times where it decides to take it's ball and go home because something happened it didn't like.
It's easier/lazier than trying to decipher the PT12 pricing scheme.

See if you can grab 10, krcwell. Worked much better for me than 9 and still uses rtas.

I'm fine with 10. Everything works. Not as slow as some suggest. of course, I'm also running a 'Westmere' Mac Pro tower with SSD drives and maxed out on RAM... and the 12 dual-core processors don't hurt either.

I'm using 11 Native and, despite so many negative things said about PT, I've found it to be extremely stable and easy to work with. The 64 bit transition to work with my 64 bit plugins is excellent. The ability to use external FX as inserts is excellent. In particular, the mix window is second to none in terms of its functionality. They really did a nice job with this software.

Nothing was wrong with 11. Other than some plugs I couldn't use anymore. It's the extortion upgrade to 12 that has everyone pissed. I'm thinking about breaking down and getting it, though, because I have a project I'm mixing in PT's and I'm getting some GUI flashing on 11 in Yosemite...and in 10, sometimes, the menu's graphics don't propagate until you scroll over them. PITA. Seems like it's almost an intentional bug to make you move up.
