So, I have been demoing these for a few days and I think I can keep them for a few more days to finish up a mix. Dang, I've got the GAS now. I have used them a number of times in other studios but never in my own. I am so glad to have the chance to really play with them. These do what I want out of an eq. Vibe, punch, clarity and no noise. Just a really nice balance. They give me all the benefits that I like from vintage units without the downside of them. Plus, I get more bands and features. As I am typing this I am stirring up my GAS more. haha I am seriously thinking of how can I get 4 of these. Does anyone else out there have these? Anyway, just wanted to share my GAS with you since my wife hates my GAS of all kinds!

That would work! Or one really nice person could just buy me a pair. That person would earn the title of "my favorite person".

Yeah, Blackbird lent me theirs for a bit....truly lovely EQs. At the time, I had a Great River preamp that they were designed to insert into to complete the Neve chain. They insert in between the transformers....as they have none of their own. So input tranny/gain....out to the EQs....fed back to the output stage and it's transformer.
I would love to have a pair....along with the preamps. That's the thing, while I didn't love the preamps by themselves, with the EQ, they were near perfect. That's been my experience with anything where they've done "just" the preamp of those Neve'ish circuits--touch of EQ to tailor and it's lovely....without? Always something better. All those Neve desks were preamp into EQ to fader (second gain stage)....it's the way it is "supposed to be".

The EQ's do have an input transformer. It's a transformer less output. It's funny, I've had both the preamp (2NV) and the EQ for years. I love the sound of both of them, but I've never hooked them up with the patch. I have them in separate racks, (one rack is pres, one is EQ's). I need to place them together and try them with the patch.

I've heard of his guitar amps, but was not aware of the EQ. I'd love to try one out sometime. Looks nice. Probably great for broad strokes in mastering, or on the mix bus.
