This track has somehow escaped me until now, cover of a Bill Haley song. Suffice to say I'm a huge fan of early rock and roll and garageband music. Killer vocal. Who needs a drum machine with this guy. Bass as played only in that era, does a particular thing to the propulsion. Hollow body fuzz guitar as it should be, and horror movie key flourishes. This gives Back In Black a serious challenge, in it's 14 years earlier sort of way, Angus would approve fo' sho'. They ham it up in this clip from a 1966 Finnish film. That is some seriously long 1966 hair there. There are better sounding audio versions, but they are a different take with a vocal performance I don't dig nearly as much (MAN AROUND!). Maybe they re-recorded this for the film. I need a master tape dub of this take! www.brumbeat.net/renegade.htmYMMV....

The reverb is very 60's. Chamber? It also sounds like the vocal distortion is from clipping the preamp. Cool to hear a modern version of that sound. Thanks!

This IS a 1966 recording. Early raw! It sounds like it could be on 'Alt Nation' now.

This is great. Definitely rocks and I love the guitar tone. Raw is refreshing to me.

Fat strings on a hollowbody. Maybe flats even?
