I was wondering if they were going to do that. Thought it would be a good idea.
I started looking at my upgrade options for PT and saw that the price was the same if I switched DAWs.

Kinda similar to DP pricing, both full and crossgrade. DP crossgrade is always there as a standing offer at $395 I think versus $499 full price. What's Cubase do on major version updates?

Version updates are almost always paid and kind of expensive, IMO. I've spent thousands on updates over the years - finally got tired of nickel-and-diming and tried Reaper. Now, I'm pretty happy!

Major DP updates (7 to 8, 8 to 9, etc) are $195, and about every two years on average. Minor updates (8.1 to 8.2, etc) are free.
