If you've already got a pile of Oktava MK012's, the figure 8 adapter can get you into M/S stereo for not a lot more. It seems like there is both an adapter for use with a pair of cardioid caps, and a dedicated figure 8 head. It sounds fine, I've recorded some piano sounds with it that have awed a few folks. Some will hate it, obviously.....I always thought I might get the Neuman KM100 figure 8 capsule, but it's nearly a grand.

Stellar rm7 stereo ribbon, great for room mic. $175.00, exactly the same as the x15 for a lot less.

Really depends on room for what. Ribbons can be awesome room mics, but for guitar amps I'd lean towards SDC's.
If I haven't ever posted a sample of the Behringer ECM8000's as room mics, I owe an apology. Acoustic test mics might not sound like mojo, but the work wonders for picking up ambience. An AB pair of these sounds great on kits, and they're great spot mics when you want to hear the instrument "as is".
Often on sessions I just tape them to wall or floors spaced out. I have a recording of a swimming pool vocal reverb I did with them once that was insane.

Honestly I sold a bunch of the Sony ECM series M/S but they are now losing output/ Charge . The Shure VP88 is a favorite and is a pretty good overhead but! Just find a nice pair of SDCs and a stereo bar! Sooooo much better than any one trick pony

Working for me, too. Same result on the stereo ribbon. Looks like a no brainer to try it tho...
