about a decade ago.. there was a plug in, it was VST and it was called "tape it"
You could insert it and it would record out to a file, sample accurate whatever was passing through it.
So you could put it on 16 tracks in your mixer as the last plug in the chain, and play through the project and get 16 files squirted out sample accurate.
It was BRILLIANT.
Is there something around like that now? in AU land?
I want to be able to use it to print outboard.
Man I wish there was.
cheers

If you know the roundtrip offset in ms you can do it in no time, sample acurate, in Logic.

If you know the roundtrip offset in ms you can do it in no time, sample acurate, in Logic. Well, you can do something, but not "it" 8) I know how to do this the long way around... But imagine, you put a plug in last in the chain, on each track. hit play from start to finish, and in a directory is all the tracks for you.. thats what Tape It did. Sample accurate. cheers Wiz

This is a Logic thing. I've found it really doesn't like working outside the software. From the "1 day" SMPTE offset default that no one I've ever worked with changes....complicating collabs everywhere....to setting up external inserts or external auxes....to exporting files--it'll import really easily and about 900 ways....but, export? Batch export? Renders outside of freeze? PIA.
Cubase can batch export tracks with whatever it inserted--combinations of hard and software inserts....sample accurate timestamped into whatever folder--even automatically bring them back into the project on a new audio file or just into the Pool (what it calls the project's audio file collection).
