I sometimes use the UA plug but I never use it as an insert. I put it on a send and dial it up gradually until I have plenty and roll it back a DB to be safe. They can make a mix really cool or totally cheese it up if you aren't careful. This is the way I've always used it too. Matter of fact, hardly ever use any kind of fx as an insert beside eq and compression. I find if it's a stereo send, it can get away from you quick. Gets the mix too wide and squishy. Starts to warble. A little dab will do you on this. And it's also one of the few things that soloing and adjusting helps. Like you say, once you start hearing it, then back it off until you almost can't. It will show up in the mix.

So, UA discontinued the Dimension D plug?

Not that I'm aware of, but I just looked around UAD's plug in shop, and didn't see it there. That's unusual.

There's so much similar stuff available in the digital marketplace, it's no biggie.

This can only mean Roland is getting into the plugin game, right?

I guess they've been into sampling from day one, so maybe you're right. It's more likely they've simply made a new deal elsewhere after a contract agreement timed out.

I really like the space echo. It better not disappear or I'll crack some skulls.
I wonder what's up with that split. Weird. Unless Roland had a contract that ran out with them and will now put out their own plugs.

licensing agreement ended and yes Roland is getting into plugs. All went down couple of days ago. Roland plugs pulled from ua store no messaging or notice: poof your history !

Yeah this move has made me very suspicious that other people will start pulling the same moves.

Thats what there saying but I expect some spectral designs/steinberg shit happening. It works until there needs to be a solid revision like PPC to INTEL and then they will be like well these old plugs go so we can support all our other shit.

This is one of the many reasons I am choosing to buy hardware now. I can share it with friends, take new toys to sessions without any trouble and they don't disappear one day without actually being stolen. In that case, my insurance will cover the loss. My favorite plugs were the Kjaerus Audio Gold plugs. They have been extinct for the better part of a decade now and were a big lesson for me not to get so caught up in plugins that I was married to them.

Interesting parting ways, hmmmm.
I love DimD on the right bass part. Kind of that Talking Heads thing.
