The xb clock was designed for what was then the Tony Masterati god mode. Its nicer than the XB. They still offer fm192's because they sound great clocked to the XB which is how my rig is. The 002 cant work that way so hence no need for a second good clock.

What do these numbers even mean? And why would you advertise that something you mod is a 3.5/10 after the fact?
This is like a 1st timers guide to silly marketing.

yeah they made them for a while just discontinued them when the XB came out I believe. If you look at there comparisons they dont say the number is how much better the mod makes it its what they believe the interface is out of 1/10 "as far as total sonic excellence" So they are saying that this interface isnt good but we offer a mod. You can also get 002's for under $100 and then mod it into one of the best interfaces around for the price.

"We frequently get asked how one modification compares to another. Here’s a comprehensive list of how we rate each mod sonically against all other mods. The scale is from 1-10, with “1” being unimpressive audio quality and “10” being true audio excellence" A 1-10 scale seems a pretty basic observation, the quote above taken from the top of the linked page, they do get asked this "most bang for the buck" question constantly, I asked it before I had my rig done, the common reality with most who negatively chime in on the webs concerning BLA, is they have never tried there stuff, pretty weird if u ask me. If any naysayers want to put their rigs to the test against my BLA modded 002r revG? I welcome u to bring it by, but fair warning, be prepared to walk out chewing crow feathers 8)

Yeah ill throw FM XB 192's and a XB002 into that test. Dan where did the 192 rank up in your test? I believe he told me it was second but everyone else'ss converters were at 96 and mine was 48. Still killing it.

haha well now you dont need it all the features come in the standard software I was in the process of purchasing those rigs, and verifying that PT11 vanilla worked with the HD native card, it most definitely, and without a doubt did NOT work with the HD native card at that time, i don't believe it works to this day, if Avid didn't have their heads so deeply seated into their asses, and spent their time working to be inclusive toward getting people on board, instead of figuring out ways to lock them out and squeeze every last dime out of them, they'd own the entire market share. think about this, if they'd have built the 002 to BLA signature FM/XB standards, and made those units linkable up to 32 tracks, would there be another consumer level interface in existence today? My bet is no way, they would have completely dominated the market, and wiped out the competition, but instead their company is on the ropes, they scoffed at my $12k, and i'm currently looking for alternative platforms to get away from their erratic wacko BS entirely.

Really? wow, In the beginning, I was told by the guys at vintage king it would work, but then I was assured this was not supposed to be able to happen by ericn , thankfully he told me to double check after i bought a 192 that was getting ready to be modded, I did, and vintage king switched their position, double checked with avid, and they said it would absolutely NOT work with the Native HD card. The fact that this is even still confusing speaks to their disfunction, it doesn't matter anymore anyhow, i've moved into another direction, that cost them $12k, i don't know about you, but i'd flip as a business owner if i'd lost $12k for no good reason.

[br T It will work is core audio with out the low latency and Avids core audio drivers being what they are.. Yeah it won't work!

I do think it's strange they are rating, apparently, many of their several-hundred-dollar products as "almost unlistenable"?? I'll take two! The number scale thing throws me off too, I can just barely comprehend what they're trying to say. There's got to be a better way to do it. I'm also glad to see people here like their mods. To me it makes sense for something like an Avid product where you're locked into specific hardware. Or is that not true any more? I can't keep up with this Pro Tools stuff.

Nah I like it, they are being honest. They are saying. You own this interface and use it. We will mod it, it will be better, but its still not that good. But that;s just my opinion and how i take it.
