Was doing some vocal take's with svart's box last night. It is better than the Tascam but not the huge difference the acoustic guitar showed. I was stunned at how much the svart box improved the guitar, vocal's are great but quite similar. Will post some files in the next couple of days. compared to what's your current AD ? |

on the main svart box thread, Svart kept us very well informed about his production process and completely delivered. The people I know who have svartbox's are very pleased and svart is talking about new features in linked next products.
So I don't think anything waned and that it is a very viable converter option and very well priced.

Very happy with my svart box so much so I was lucky enough to be able to get the DA board to add to the AD. svart has an awsome product here. The tascam uh7000 has good reviews I was/am happy with mine the spec's are good and it sounds good. I am just shooting out the svart vs tascam because its what I have. As i posted above the svart box killed the tascam on guitar not so much on the vocals but it was still clearly better. Very keen to hear the difference in the DA.

His DAC is boxed up and shipping today hopefully. We're moving offices here at work so the last few days have been more hectic than I had planned and I haven't been able to get to the post office before they close, since I have to do customs forms in person. Shipping to Down Under takes about a week or so it seems.

As an all-in-one AD-DA/preamp/interface, it's nice to know the UH-7000 can at least hang with what I'm sure is an exceptional converter like the Svart. I have my RGOspeedwagon DAC connected up my initial impressions compared to the UH7000, It's not a massive difference but this is a game of inches, I heard some noise in a couple of tracks I hadn't picked up before, EQ is where it shows up the most making fine eq adjustments are easier with the svart box. Is it better? Hell yes someone described the uh7000 as vanilla thats a good description it does sound good but the RGOspeedwagon is more accurate no question. svart has something very special here.
It plays nice thru the Tascam everything just works.

Uh7000 and svart issue. I had some noise when using the tascam internal software volume controls, svart box out when I selected digital outs the volume is at line level (noise disappears) BUT you have no volume software control except for logic's faders or itunes volume control. If you forget you get line level out  I have a passive monitor coming from mammoth audio so it won't be an issue soon. My suspicion is tascams software weird. |
