Hey All...I know that a bunch of us have the Monoprice headphones, and personally I've also bought many Monoprice cables for my home studio with success. Has anyone here bought a hard case from them? They have a sale ($30) on the small size that could be perfect for traveling with mics or DIY mics that don't have a case. Check it out HERE.

They look nice, but I have seen some very thin generic cases in the past so be careful, for a bit more check out Furete cases for a Seahorse !

Yeah...I'll grab one too unless someone here reports that they've had a bad experience with them.

The reviews look very promising - with the exception of not very good "stackability"

The Monoprice warehouse is just a few miles from my place. They also opened a store in the Ontario Mills Mall also close to my place. The store has everything on display and you can even test certain things out. Played a few guitars and basses through their stomp boxes and amps. Listened to the headphones. The D.J. ones are the best. I'll have to check out the boxes next time I'm in there.

Talked to a Case rep I know, he hates the Monoprice cases Because they are so good! Only thing is the larger ones are a bit thinner construction but better than many and the foam isn't the best but they are killing his biz! Their reject rate is very low and fit and finish is excellent for the money! The stackabty thing I understand is only a problem with a pretty big stack.

Ordered one. Not even sure why. Cases are cool. I have a GIANT stack of empties of all sizes.

Thanks Kidvybes. The quality appears comparable and the MCM prices might be even better than Monoprice. THIS for securely transporting a piece of 19" rack mount gear if it needs to leave the studio could be cool. I've ordered a small Monoprice case and will review it here once it arrives.

My 12" Monoprice case arrived this morning. First impressions are: very solid--could probably drive a car over this thing; the latches work well without any problems; the way it's designed it stands on end really well--not tippy; it has a nice rubber feel handle grip; the Monoprice label was peeling off slightly so I stuck it back down. I may just peel it off if it misbehaves.
So my first overall impression is a good one--even thicker and more solid than expected.

You're planning on using it for mics right? How many 57's will fit, for example? Thanks!

You're planning on using it for mics right? How many 57's will fit, for example? Thanks! It's hard to say exactly--I'd say at least a half dozen 57s (not on end but horizontal). But it would depend on whether you want to use the cubed foam for specific size inserts or just keep the top and bottom foam and use more like a suitcase which is probably what I'd do. If you have a lot of mics to transport including larger ones I'd suggest going up in size. This would hold an SM7 and a few other mics for example. But if you need to mic up a whole stage this 12" size would be too small. My need was for a case to bring a few of my own mics to studios when I record elsewhere.

FYI bought a Monoprice mic for playing harmonica thru $15- with an on/off switch. Sounds fine and built like a tank. Not sure how stacks up to a 57 but impressive....
