"dreams aren't for everyone"...... who doesn't use autotune....., who is the Zero he bitchslapped? i'd love to hear one of her amazing works of art. Britney was just barely F-able from the beginning, now she's not and the beer glass that was her career has lost it's frosty wet slutscurity to reveal the face of a dust queefing grandma residing in the glass haha
(i tried to be really mean above, not too bad haha, i agree with ward, her arrival on the scene is the timestamp representing the start of the demise of quality music... ooooohhhhh, mean footnote supplemental! haha)
edit; the best part was when cowl turned away to hide his "oh snap" face from idiot #2 as if she wouldn't see it when she engage in the modern day, 0 talent celebrity narcissism of admiring her utter lack of talent on TV later haha Baaaaaam!!! 3's the charm! 8)

Well, aren't casting shows in general representing what is wrong in the world of music and entertainment? Too much people seem to really believe that you can cast talent and get a star out of this. I'm really shocked that this illusory world works so well in the mind of the common people. The judges are shitty, 95% is quasi scripted reality, it's about some loser and some pity arousing unknown and uninteresting personalities that could be anyone from the street, really thinking they could be a star and making an idiot out of themselves on a tv stage. And then they really choose one or even a band and push them on the market for one album and a tour or whatever that is so mediocre, that the next casting star loser can take over the role in the next season.... And it sells as a concept. Right now, the first casting show of this type ("The Band", offspin of "The Voice of Germany") flopped miserably - and totally unexpected by the producers. They had to send this thursday evening show to a weekly 8.15 saturday morning child tv slot, because it had extraordinary few viewers after 2 shows. This leaves some hope. But i doubt it's a general trend. These shows represent the absolute meaninglessness of todays pop music and the exchangeability of its impersonators... YMMV

Compare and contrast with "The Voice," a show I have issues with because of the type of singers that make it to the top, but my wife watches it. Yeah, it's slick over the top, but the judges are for real - they're knowledgeable, credible performers who can sing in tune, and it looks like they bring a sense of commitment and community/rapport to the table in their dealings with the contestants, who are generally well-prepared. Of course, 'Merica gets too much say in who moves forward - so you get the sexy, young, bad-break, name-your-schtick contestants who get too far. But what really bothers me from a musical perspective is that it's like watching the olympics or a Van Cliburn piano competition. It's very prescribed. Every song has to build to the point where the singer holds a high Bb for 15 seconds, the crowd erupts and then it's over. Hmm.. I feel dirty now.
