Well, not for PT10 - unless you have Bluecat patchwork...but the GSi VB3 is about the best one I've heard out there.

apparently incompatible with yosemite 10.10, man this digital shit does everything it can to keep you from being creative sometimes!

As far back as I can remember, NI has not done demos of their stuff. The good news is the instruments are solid, the libraries are decent meat and potato's and there 3rd party stuff is excellent. The Vintage Organ stuff is pretty good. Good enough that I tend to not break out the 122 and get the tubes toasting unless I'm REALLY serious..... I would like a nice A100 to go along with it though.... The plugs aren't THAT good.

Everything works as it should. BTW, apart from the B4, that's been discontinued by NI, I'm not too crazy about their piano/organ stuff.

The stock piano's in Kontakt are a complete waste other than the Alicia's Keys which is "OK" sometimes. The upright can be cool at times, but the other stuff....I never even open it up and try it anymore.

my buddy swears by the Logic X organ, once you dial in a few settings. Of course, he hasn't given me those settings yet... He's out on tour in europe, but when he gets back in a couple weeks, I'll pass them along.

Native Instruments B4, the original one, was awesome... just awesome.
Their B4II is really good.
The logic pro x one, is pretty bloody great as well.

What about EZ Keys by Toontracks? Anyone using these? Guess not... I really like Superior Drummer so I figured it might be an excellent product also. Logic X seems to be a no brainer for what you get for the price, not to jump off topic, but may I add in a quiet not so confident voice, I am looking at a new DAW. I'm trying to decide between Logic X, Cubase, Studio One 3. Another thread once my mic locker gets figured out $&@/!)!!!

I trust your judgement. I will just stick with my Ivory for now and bounce.

Ok, turns out Apple hired Dave Amels, who is the brains behind the Voce Organ Modules. voceinc.com/ That's why the Logic organ is great.

I DO wish you could demo these. The "sound" of a piano sample, via clips is nearly useless in determining the instrument playing quality. It's been an issue from the beginning of sampler tech in the 80s. Third party libraries had to be bought based on word of mouth and occasionally audio clips on a CD (and later a website). While ROMplers you could simply grab familiar headphones and go to the store. Hear/play the best of (and admittedly smaller pool) of industry heavyweights.
Seems like to me that with a library like Ravenscroft or Ivory being iLok protected....if I'm willing to download the however many tens of gigs the library is--why do I not have a fully functional demo for 14 days? Hell--3 days. Shoot for a weekend trial! Does that somehow help hackers? Or have they done the math and realized they will lose more sales than they pick up by doing that?
This was my caution as we (collectively) moved to software instruments some 15 years ago....I said the big flaws were you didn't know how it would run on your hardware....and you didn't know how it "played"--you only had end result sound clips to judge--and that would take development into a dangerous place, as how it "feels" no longer has any basis in sale or no sale....only what the track ends up sounding like....only how it FEELS to the player DOES affect how the track ends up sounding....
