I saw Lady Antebellum on PBS and Dave Haywood was playing a Wurlitzer 140B with midi that he got from Ken Rich Services. When he played their hit "I Need You Now" it sounded like a Yamaha Stage piano. Is he triggering a sound module from the midi in the Wurlitzer? I've never heard a Wurly sound like this.
Yes midi it is. Cool.

That's a good comparison of so many things... One thing among several that comes to mind: "less is more". The Parsons part made me remember when you could buy albums on reel to reel tape. I'm listening to Parsons after that clip. yotonic, that Wurly sounds nice, but that can be duplicated well enough in software; with layers and all - fairly easily. But I liked the sound/settings in the demo. No price without contacting Ken Rich.

There's no Wurli in any of those clips I heard. Might be one on the Parsons track....but, all the demos ARE software--played by the MIDI add on to the Wurli, which is a marvelous feeling keyboard. It seems like this would be a really expensive mod, though. I would love one. Put it in an Avacado green 20x for me and send it on, Ken....I'll explain it to everyone.

SNIP... played by the MIDI add on to the Wurli, which is a marvelous feeling keyboard. Agreed! I love the feel of my Wurly EP200. I'll have to check into the cost of this retrofit, unless someone else is able to report on it now (please).
