Yeah there's a thread somewhere around here that was on this.

Has anyone come up with the idea of porting live music over wi-fi to people at concerts? Just slap in a couple of buds (preferably with noise cancelation) or use closed headphones to do away with the sound of the guy next to you screaming out of tune at the top of his lungs.
OO.. and not just equalize, but even customize the mix from your mobile device if you want!

At the NAMM show they passed out headphones for the live seminars. Nothing over a P.A. trying to compete with the Convention-Floor Noise. Only problem was the limiting put on the headphone mix when listening to Mixes. Otherwise a great idea.

They were giving out dubs (earplugs) at Winter NAMM 2015. In the drum room, a great spot.
I got an email for the kickstarter campaign for the active earbuds, and I wound up buying a pair, to be delivered around September. I'd longed for in-ears where you could just turn down the volume of what you were hearing without plugs. I'm not so much interested in the DSP other than loudness control. I think EQ and reverb are gimmicks, but I'm willing to try 'em to just turn down the world at will. I suppose battery life will be an issue, the case is the charger for the earbuds, and I'm guessing you won't get much time out of a charge since the whole bud isn't very big, and it'll have to have bluetooth or something to communicate with the phone. But I dig the concept.
