I reeeally miss my J45 TV. Not that it sounded better than the D-28 Authentic I picked up - but just from a sheer aesthetic quality. I just find them beautiful. Especially with the Nitro lacquer. Sigh...Anyway, I can't afford one, but check out the New Vintage J45's at Wildwood Guitars. These are made with hide glue...so a little better traditional, quality build. Maybe it's just the lighting but the binding looks to be a little more aged/yellowed. Freaking sexy. www.wildwoodguitars.com/products/11454012.php?CategoryID=432&n=24#

I love my Martin, but there is something about Gibsons that gives me the feels. The best acoustic I've ever played was a beat up original Southern Jumbo with more cracks in it than you could shake a stick at. There was even a portion of the back that had a 3" square hole that was repaired. It was so far beyond any other acoustic I've played or heard it blew my mind. It sat so well in the mix - just made everything feel good (the fantastic player helped quite a bit as well).
I've been trying to find the "it" Gibson acoustic slope, but none of the new ones I've played have cut it so far. I have found some small bodied Gibsons (vintage) that were fantastic, but couldn't justify the price at the time.
Wildwood does a great job of getting me to want to spend money. I've resisted so far. That 45 is indeed beautiful.

Good sounding Gibson acoustics are hard to find in Germany. I had the pleasure to play one that was nothing but fantastic, but we where going on vacation and the cash was blocked.

Honestly, it's hard to find really great sounding acoustics anywhere...I can walk into Artisan Guitars and only be blown away by two or three guitars.
