These usually go for $300 new.
I don't know how many of you program drums, but I couldn't live without mine. It's got a permanent place on my desk. You could also use it for any other midi controller function, it has faders, knobs, and buttons, and multiple presets, so it's a bit versatile. Steven Ellison, aka, Flying Lotus uses or used this for his main or only controller for his live show for a good while, along with a laptop. I'm assuming he was triggering Ableton Live with it but I'm not sure. His sort of unquantized beats in his music is a good example of what you could do with some pads like this. Obviously you can quantize as much as you need.
1/8th note 2-bar XOX-style step sequencing often leaves me feeling dry, so does using the mouse or a piano, I love jamming out live rhythms on these pads, with software like Battery or BFD. You almost get the feeling of playing a real drum.
I upgraded my pads with MPC Stuff.com's Pad Corx for extra touch sensitivity, and custom colored pads.
The deal savvy producer might jump on a price like this. I would anyway.
