I don't think there's really anything left that I want...Maybe the RMX, Harrison EQ or 33609...but do I really need them?

I used to use Harrison on nearly every channel , but less since I started using pro q 2. I'm thinking about picking up Helios or dimension d... Is the updated Fairchild worth it? I never use the old one.

If you never use the old one, then you probably won't use this one. I like it on drum bus occasionally - also like the ability to use on the AG Bus in dual mono with the HPF - although, I've been doing that much less since getting the FC526's.

It does have a thing where it brings up the room sound nicely on drum bus. Turn the input all the way up and then pull the threshold up slowly...Also dial in the headroom to taste.

I have used it for that purpose, but lately I've been using other methods (like with transient designer 'sustain' knob). I usually just forget I have the fairchild plug, but I should probably audition it more.

Its modelled without the coloring part, if you buy it now you will have to pay extra for the mk II. The problem with UAD is they do not bring inovative new plug ins. I had way more fun with plug ins from indipendent developpers such as klanghelm, airwindows, tonebosters etc. Great stuff and much cheaper too.

I am trying to decide between Ampex, API Vision, 1073, any advice?
I know I really could use Ocean Way but it's still pretty expensive, even on sale.

I would go with the 1073 or the Ampex. I use both on every mix.

I agree with John but I would recommend that you demo the new 88 channel strip too !

I've used the UAD one and I bought the T-Racks version of it when the group buy was going on, I use it to add instant punch, amazing what that plug will do.

I hit on the big drum and bought one of their older plugs "Cambridge EQ" for the entire $ 24 lol I wish they would bring something new, maybe a reverb that we have never seen before a CPU hog but this would make sense to run the dsp card for. Maybe a verb that blocks a full quad card mrsp 350 but ... ok i stop dreaming.....

I bought the Cambridge with nothing but coupons a while back. Still wish they would update it, though...maybe with unlimited EQ points and a better GUI.

Wonder if the LA3A is gonna get an update? It's $49. Makes me think so. Maybe I should grab it.

Got mail today from UAD telling me again that they give me a 25$ coupon. Went to the shop ..... thought about all offers and came to the conclusion that I have everything I need. I do not see a reason to buy gear that I wont use..... I think we are oversaturated with tools..... It makes much more sense to me, to invest in real gear from now on? Special my guitar rig needs to get bigger?

I'm really curious for the few that have every UAD plugin they need... what are the essentials for you? what couldn't you live without and what do you use on every mix?
I feel like I could reach that point too, but I'm not there yet.

My essentials are the 1176 collection and the Verbs. Also find myself reaching for the LA2's, Fatso, Ampex...

Pultecs, LA2's, 3, 1176, dbx160, all the verbs, API, Neve, Harrison and Cambidge EQ's.
Lately Ocean Way. Oh yeah, Studer and Ampex, usually on individual tracks.

Just pulled the trigger on a new blackface apollo. Cant wait to dig in.
For all you apollo users, can you track through plugs on the digital ins?
Anyone use/like the little labs ibp plug? Api vision strip?
