Seems like Microsoft is saying that Windows 10 will be the "last" Windows, with the future being based on updates and not a new operating system every few years. Here's a LINK with the news. I'm pretty married to my Mac these days, but the idea of not having to coordinate interfaces and software to a constantly changing OS is intriguing. |

That's scary. That reads like they are going to move to the subscription model that everyone else is using for software.

Imagine if you had to pay the subscription fee, and they introduced something like Windows 8 which most everybody hated. So, you'd have to pay the subscription fee even though you didn't download the new "improvement". Aren't monopolies wonderful? |

just don't update. I doubt converters or DAWs are really going to improve much more than they are. has Lavry or Prism released any new designs that blow their old products out of the water? So, what's most likely to change? plugins and synths. that's about it. So, be awesome and just buy Omnisphere 2 lol

Well, i am one of those who didn't hate win8.
At win7 i hesitated. I didn't like some things about it and stayed XP.
Win8 did alot of things better than win7 under the hood, while maintaining mostly compatibility. Now at 8.1 i guess i will be happy for as long as i was with XP.
I ditched the Metro surface and use Classic Shell and it's like a modern XP64 and serves very well. I see no need for a win10 at all for me.....
Subscribtion model is just the last bit i need to be sure i will not upgrade to 10.
